So it doesn’t come off as sour grapes. These refs blow and have been missing call after call of us being fouled. Not calling 3 second calls. Push offs / offensive fouls for UK uncalled. I can go on forever. If the refs don’t pander to a Rupp crowd we win comfortably.

We attempt too many ill-advised shots to overcome the refs

It's the first one I remember and I see them all. BTW I agree about the quality of the refs . . . but we knew what to expect going into corRuppt Arena. Not sure we would have won comfortably but I'd say we would have pulled it out in the second half.

Honestly, I thought this game was called not anywhere near as horrifically as so many other games at Rupp. There have been some doozies. I didn’t check the stats but feel the FT’s were somewhat even tonight. I remember many times at Rupp the disparity of FT’s was shocking. In general, we played hard and well at times but we were inconsistent and had them too many easy shots and were killed on their offensive boards. Sometimes, the ball just bounces that way. I’ll say this, we play hard and just never quit. But, I hate to see a poor shooting player launch terrible shots often and seemingly destroy our momentum. At least, try to take a shot that has a chance. Please! Or better yet, pass the ball.

So it wasn't an armed robbery but an embezzlement. LOL! :)

I agree Florida didn't play near it's best either though and in the end not good enough to win in the SEC on the road.

I went back to check the Tshicts shuffle shuffle shuffle. I counted it out and got one hundred one, one hundred two, one hundred three, one hundred four, one hundred five, one hundred six. As all of you should know you don't start counting when he gets the ball. Rather the ref should have started when he entered the lane from the opposite side, got himself position waiting for the in pass, and included the three looks at the basket before passing it back out front. Literally 6 seconds in the lane and no call nor was there any shot. Where's Coach Knight when you need him.

Don’t forget Richard going in for an easy layup on fast break and the Kentucky guy swiping and getting all arm causing Richard to lose control of the ball and they call it out on Richard.

That was right after the CC missed dunk and the Loften missed front end of the 1 and 1 and right before the horrible shot by Reeves. We lost the game on that 7-0 run of Kentucky's right before half that made a 4 point deficit an 11 point deficit. I didn't even watch the second half because they were not going to dig themselves out of that hole on the road at Rupp.

why not just create a bad officiating thread before the game even starts since there's complaints almost every game?

it's time to do away with human refs completely. Wear smart uniforms and leave it up to the machines. Far too many mistakes by refs, either on purpose or by human error. The umps in baseball calling incorrect strikes or balls all the time comes to mind. Why keep them? other than it's easier to shave points for the mob:p

It's all perspective. After reading Rupp Rafters just now, I learned that Castleton walked at least 8 times and committed at least 8 fouls. And Oscar couldn't look at CC without being whistled for it.

Maybe a good idea. But, it’s ok to point out bad calls without blaming the loss on the officiating. Every team in the league will admit there is home cooking at Rupp; perhaps the crowd sways close calls. Good teams overcome things like bad calls, injuries, etc.
In basketball, I can’t stand when an official calls a foul when no player was even touched. I know it’s very hard to ref a fast game. Just don’t call a foul if you don’t see it is what I want. The worst game I can recall where the officiating was the Swindle In the Swamp - something nefarious was occurring with the officials in that game.

Presumption of contact when you don't actually see any is my biggest pet peeve with officiating

All I hear is how knowledgeable the Cat fans are and all I see is them booing profusely every single foul called against them. Knowledgeable….BS!

Refs were fine. Just make layups and you win. Pretty simple.

Travel. However Oscar traveled early in the game and does that exact same move several times a game. This is a meh take. Like I said refs were fine. Make layups and Florida beats an average UK team. It’s whatever. I won’t blame losing on the refs.

The refs allowed both teams to be physical. That’s not unfair as long as it’s consistent. But it titled the advantage to UK given our undersized players. We are better off in a game where less pushing and shoving for position is permitted.

A few more calls went UK’s way than ours, IMO. It is always that way for UK at Rupp. The failure to make a three seconds call on their center camping out for six was particularly bad. For as long as I can remember, their crowd has loudly booed every single call against UK like it was fraudulent. It must get into the officials heads a little.
