Didn’t Emmitt sell the rights to his autograph when he was young. I’d bet some of these nil deals could have longer lasting implications for players and some of these companies may be hedging their bets on future income of players that become big stars later in their careers.
I think most of these deals have some sort of we pay you now, we have first rights on your NIL if you become a star in the future attached to them.
It's like the record deal model. Pay up front but have the rights to the next two albums. Play the percentages you land a hit
