Being reported that an Aussie big man committed to uF…Alex Condon. I remember when he visited but know little about him.
Looks like a project who isn’t likely to contribute much for a while. Hopefully Condon will prevent shots from going far
I have been assuming that Felder is gone, but that might just be because of uncertainty of what’s going on with him. Whatever it might be I wish him the best. Always thought he had a high ceiling in basketball, hope everything else in his life is ok.
Looks like we're bringing in some height with the freshman class. 6'-11" Condon and 6'-9" Haugh. Condon sounds like a physical and athletic player, though fairly raw. Haugh sounds like a pretty polished, fluid player on both ends, but will need to add muscle. I think these will be good, 4-year Gators, though maybe not heavy in the rotation next season. Although both may see the floor early if their defense is ready. Welcome to UF!
A 6-foot-11 member of the 2023 class, Condon did not appear on any major recruiting services until recently, but currently goes to school at NBA Global Academy Australia and received interest from St. Mary's and Utah as well. Condon is a promising athlete who is relatively new to basketball after playing at the highest level of Australian Rules Football for his age group and was viewed as a top prospect in the sport overall. While his lack of long term basketball experience could lead him to be quite raw, Condon has plenty of potential and is the kind of athlete Golden wants: Someone who can run hard in transition and be a physical force on both ends in the post. Florida hoops lands commitment from Australian C Alex Condon
Hopefully one of these guys is ready, Castleton will be leaving some big shoes to fill. Perhaps coach will be looking to the portal for a plug and play guy. Presumably PG will be a need as well. Assuming the players with eligibility return, we seem especially solid on the wings. But the PG and inside rebounding/scoring are still the major holes to fill.
