    “We don’t. No.”

That was how Billy Napier answered a question at his February National Signing Day press conference about whether he anticipates that UF would hear from the NCAA about the Jaden Rashada NIL mess. While Napier is not alone among coaches in doubting that there will be any investigation of potential NIL infractions, the NCAA really wants everyone to think that times are changing.

According to a Sports Illustrated report earlier this week, the NCAA has finally decided to take actions to actually enforce some of its NIL restrictions.

The new rule went into effect on January 1 and Rashada’s NIL blew up in December.

Don’t see how we can be bound by something that wasn’t in effect at the time of our “violation”.

That would be like punishing an 18 year old for drinking the week before the drinking age was raised to 21.

Yeah . . . and this "presumed guilty and have to prove innocence" standard will be almost impossible to uphold in any real Court.

I read the article, there is reference to a 13mil deal. IMO, it's irresponsible to mention Florida and 13mil when it's never been documented that this occurred AND it's never been documented that this broke any rules.
Just because SI irresponsibly mentions Florida, Gator Country shouldn't be parroting that garbage.. Just my opinion.

Lol at the NCAA. They want to go retro enforcement then they can go look into Jimbos comment that NIL happened before it was legal. Not sure why people continue to acknowledge them as an entity.

Well it was also counter to the SEC constitution and bylaws to strip us of the SEC Championship in 1985, yet that happened. Anyway, when has the NCAA been known for consistency?

If Reddit is correct, Our NIL offered 7 mil to Rashada (for 4 yrs, Senior year heavy) after he had signed a contract with Miami for 6 mil. Our NIL then sent a second letter to Rashada stating we would not pay the 6 mil to Miami via Rashada as UF is not a rival to Miami, something Rashad could be on the hook for in vague language in signed contract. Rashada thinks he's covered, he signs NLI with Good Guys....

Miami NIL Life Wallet (Ruiz) says it would legally enforce the signed contract as they considered UF a rival and insisted they were owed 6 mil if Rashada enrolls at UF. That is the 7 + 6 = 13 being thrown around.

So maybe the NCAA will go after Miami, as a pay to play contract Is against NIL rules, and it is tampering, and it is causing young Rashada to have to go spend a year of his life with no real NIL contract, although after one year, he could transfer back to UF, potentially with a year of starts, but there is a highly rated 2024 QB coming in... Could he still get 6 mil of his old contract?

Supposedly, the four year contract was structured 1, 1, 2, 3 mil a year, Senior year heavy is great for UF. If said QB would of stayed 4 years, maybe 3 mil the Senior year would be worth it, if he left after Junior year for NFL, only a 4 mil... If he didn't work out, he would have transferred.

BN has continued to state NIL will be a strength for UF. If NCAA did open investigation, and goes after Miami for tampering, it would be a beautiful thing.

But then again, according to Reddit.... Kind of passes the eyeball test, blame the Hurricanes.

Edit. Original post on Reddit is Vaporware. I didn't get a screenshot of it. Historically in my experience, things that have more truth to them are quietly taken down as someone said something they weren't supposed to...

Also of note, BN in his NSD press conference said he had the utmost respect for Rashada and his family. Almost going out of his way to get that in. Maybe Rashada transfers back to UF after spring ball.

Hopefully NCAA goes after Life Wallet and Ruiz in Miami.

Let's see, no rule in effect when we allegedly "violated". Now there are nebulous rules and worse yet, the NCAA is going to retroactively punish alleged offenders, but not if the offenders can prove they did nothing wrong. How do you prove nothing happened if nothing happened?

Even if we never play them, I consider them a rival and want them to lose every game unless a win somehow benefits the Gators.

This exact scenario was what I was concerned about when I read the SI article yesterday. Offering $500,000 for him to get in DECEMBER. Thats a problem, if true. How is that NOT a violation by our boosters (collective)?

Maybe the fact that we didn't actually do it will be a saving grace. But you can't convince me all these other kids at other schools haven't received a penny until enrolled and on campus. No way. But Rashada has received a LOT of national attention and would make sense for the NCAA to look into it.

BTW, from Ruiz's perspective, we are definitely a rival. He seems to have a vendetta against UF. Seems like little brother syndrome to me.
