That was the one he (and we) needed. UF is quietly right there in SEC play too. 6-3 at the halfway mark.
Somehow got kicked out of the game thread AGAIN this year so I missed out on the fun, but what a huge win. Confidence boost for Todd and the program.
Haha yes. The first time my last post was pointing out what needed to be done to get to postseason and tonight it was posting that the score was about to be 44-38 if Vescovi hit his free throws. I posted a thread asking about it and it got deleted so I have no clue what keeps happening!
Some weird stats from the game: Tennessee vs. Florida - Men's College Basketball Box Score - February 1, 2023 | ESPN Florida - 12 assists, Tennessee - only 7 assists. Stellar defense from both teams minimized this statistic. Lofton - 4A, Jones 4A, Castleton - 3A Florida got out-rebounded again but the Gators played much better in the 2nd half boxing out and going for the rebounds: Tenn: 43 reb/18 OR(mostly first half), UF: 36 reb/5 OR Turnovers were even: 10 TO's a piece. Florida had some recent games with less than 10 turnovers. It's great that everyone is taking care of the ball than previously in the season. UT- 6 stls, UF - 4 stls UF- 7 blocks (Castleton only 1 block, so a team effort) UT - 2 blks Leading scorer of game: Castleton: 6/13 for 20 pts (8/8 FT), 9 reb, 3A, 1 blk.
We gave up 18 offensive rebounds, which is definitely a lot. But they had 49 misses, so the percentage isn’t as bad in context.
