We haven't. I was in the student section when the 04-05 team finally stopped the losing streak against Kentucky. David Lee came over the table to us rather than us going down there.
We were back-to-back National Champions. We are the Florida Gators. We act like we've been there already and will be back. Just IMO.
Don’t care if you disagree so save the “act like you been there”. It’s lame they lock down the court like Fort Knox. We don’t need 350 cops to guard the court… we need to let kids be kids. You’re in college once. Rarely IF EVER does anything happen negatively. Kids dance around…. They go home. It looks good on ESPN, it lets the students feel like they’re with the team for a minute/ WAY more good than harm. Typical stodgy old dudes runnin the show over at UAA. Wine and cheese and cargo short crowd. Lame. Go gators. Great win.
Huge win. I hate UT in every sport, even baseball. The Gators earned this win with an all-out effort without losing their poise. Go Gators!
He is always the key to whether we win or not. And it's not like he has to always get the basket - it's how smart and tough he plays that counts the most. Tonight late in the first half he started doing more passing to other players and that pretty much set the tone for the rest of the game. If we do that - along with playing the stout D we did tonight - we are formidable as anyone in the game....
Todd Golden is doing a fantastic job building this team. Also, the coaching staff is drawing up great offensive plays. Great win!
See what positive vibes does for the team? Put positive energy into the universe and you get some back...isn't it a more enjoyable thread
What an unbelievably great win by Florida! A great historic win over the #2 team in the land! Previously, Tennessee had won 9-straight road SEC games before the vols lost to Golden's Florida Gators!
The game was won with defense, and that was some great individual and team defense. Only a few plays tonight where we had guys caught out of position.
I don't think storming the court is bush league, personally. I think its one of the things that makes college basketball unique. But you are right that it is a high complement to the opponent. In football we don't because the entire GPD with their dogs lines the field every 10 yards. But in basketball, I assume it's more of a culture thing. I don't ever recall it happening since I've been a fan (early 90's).
Been watching the Gators my entire life..and even with the 04s we didn't storm the courts.. That's saved for teams that are not used to winning big time games and championships..
