My nephew is a big basketball fan, and so I have taken him to a few FAU games. He has become a HUGE fan. I have become friends w a few of the staffers over the years, and so I also developed a rooting interest. My nephew’s birthday was Thursday. And so I swung by Dusty’s office and dropped off a card for autographs. Thursday, after the Owls win… Dusty waved us over. I figured he was going to hand him the signed card. Instead, he escorted us into the locker room… where the players were awaiting our arrival. My nephew walked into a huge ovation. The entire team sang “happy birthday” and presented him the card. Dusty asked him to lead the team cheer. Every person in the room… players, coaches and staffers were genuinely excited and happy to make his moment. I know we are all Gators, but Dusty has a really special group and well worth cheering. All really good people, led by Dusty himself. I’m a fan.
