Just missed the Top 25: South Carolina, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma, UCLA, Troy, Maryland and Boise State. We have to go to Lexington and both Columbia's. The Pigs and FSU come to our place. God help us.
Going to have earn our way back into the polls with W's. Maybe we sneak up on a few teams this season.
As much as it pains me to say it, not really. They return a lot and only lost close games - early in the season - to the ranked teams on their schedule. Their schedule looks close to the same as last year. I could see them dropping LSU this year, but the rest look winnable. Tennessee is the most mind-boggling to me on that list. They must be big believers in Heupel.
They are apparently, UT just gave him a brand new 7yr $9mil per contract. That’s certified tomfoolery, imho.
Right? We may have beat their sorry asses if they called the obvious face mask tgat I could see from my seat. They weren’t tgat good but their schedule is weak enough to get there.
I don't see the FSU love. I can always see them doing fairly well thanks to strength of schedule... should be favored in like 8-9 of their games at least based on talent. But if we had a staff like theirs going into year 4 with how they've coached and recruited, I don't think we'd be so optimistic. Granted, obstacles in the form of Georgia and Alabama (SEC Championship assuming we even get that far) among other tough teams have a lot to do with that.
UcheaT is worried they're gonna' lose their "program savior" to the NFL or Oklahoma in a year or two. I think they take a dive this year. Last year was magical for them and they will revert to their mean. LOL!
I know bowl game performances are pretty meaningless but they looked good against Clempson and Milton played well. If they can find some defense, they may surprise some folks in 2023 again.
