If you ever wondered what murder looked like, well, you no longer have to. I'm at a loss for words to describe how despicable and depraved this is. It's so brutal that it almost seems personal in some way that we'll never know, there's no other viable explanation for it. And they knew their body cams were rolling and still couldn't control themselves.
I just saw the video, and uhhhhh… Those cops look like they went through “training” by watching the Bad Boys movies. Holy sh*t, that guy did not deserve that. Even if it ended up with the same outcome, Nichols was treated many times worse than George Floyd
If one has a duty and negligently fails to fulfill it, one needs to be ready, in this case, to pay Mr. Ben Crump, Esquire, millions. I expect $10 million plus.
Demonstrators have shut down I55 the N/S interstate which sucks for traffic especially truckers, but so far all has been peaceful. No doubt a civil suit will come out of this costing Memphis millions.
These broad purview policing units seem to have a very high rate of turning corrupt. LAPD CRASH unit, the Baltimore Gun Trace Task Force, and now the Memphis Scorpion Unit (and it is now coming out how commonly this group utilized excessive force and violence). These types of units (politically created units with minimal oversight and massive purviews) are cancers.
Another thing that bothers me, and it could be one of the many ironies of this world, is this guy was pulled over for reckless driving and this was the attempt to subdue and arrest him. Why can't the cops do this whenever they make an arrest of child killers/molesters, rapists, etc.?
Everyone is upset now, but it will pass the minute any serious attempt is made to try to limit this from happening again and again. Hope I’m wrong.
I can’t help but think had he not resisted arrest, run away, and fought the cops he’d have ended up in court not in the ground. These situations are totally preventable. I truly don’t think cops look to kill people but they don’t want to be killed either so this stuff keeps happening. It’s bad on both sides.
The pepper spray in the eye might have impeded his ability to passively submit and obey. Seemed like he was kicking wildly, perhaps out of agony, not really out of defiance. Jmho
You know, I didn’t have the patience to write something like this. I just put a “Come on man” but I think your approach is more effective. Respect to you
Come on man he was resisting arrest hell he ran! I’m not implying he deserved to die by any stretch but he could have just taken the ticket and gone in with his life.
Okay now I’m giving you the “Come On Man.” This kid committed no crime. Nor was he resisting. Even if he committed a crime and WAS resisting, everything that happened in that tape would STILL be excessive and reprehensible
It’s obvious to any reasonable person he resisted arrest. Was he guilty of a crime? No idea. Now we have 5 cops whose lives are ruined and one young man dead. It’s horrible. Now the race hustlers Sharpton and Crump show up to pick the bones. More property and more people will get hurt and nothing will change except some sh#tbag “reverends” and lawyers will get richer while they pray for it to happen again. It’s truly sickening.
