Disagree. UF desperately needs a couple of quality wins in the second half of SEC play and the next two weeks provide a great opportunity to achieve that. I agree we will need another 6-7 regular season wins but at least a couple will need to come against the top 3-4 opponents remaining on our schedule.
We should be favored in 6 of our final 11 games. If we win them and go 18-13 in the regular season, we have a chance to get into the dance.
Agree. We win 2 in the SEC tourney that’s 20 wins. We also need to pull at least one sweet upset (to make us 21-12) and imo, we’re in.
could see 0-4 but could also see 2-2, I like the way we have been playing and I believe Fudge was expected back by this weekend
I think if we don't beat any of the 4 it'll confirm what we probably already know, we aren't in the top quarter of our conference yet. I'll generally be interested in how we play/compete. Looking for a positive trajectory this year.
Matches my thinking. I'm expecting 0-4, each by 1 goal in triple overtime, because that's the most 2023 Gator basketball result. It cracks me up that we are tied in SEC for 5th. Even richer -- tied with UK. I distinctly remember after the Auburn loss thinking "I'm done, I'll focus on WBB." Well...
That was the case a couple weeks ago (fighting for NIT), but after winning 5 of last 6 they still can make the dance. Just win one out of this brutal stretch and finish out with the ones we are “supposed” to and we’ll at least be right there. Other than 1 brutal half @A&M our guys are actually playing pretty damn well all things considered.
Just “making“ the tournament should always be the standard at this level. Obviously a new coach might sometimes have a depleted roster, but with the Portal and some key pieces back it was a reasonable expectation. I don’t think it’s a roster that was going to be top 10, just good enough that you set the bar at “making the tournament”. While we looked off earlier in the year, I actually like what I’ve been seeing lately. Almost reminds of some BD offense with that crisp passing and high % of assists/baskets. Hopefully a sign of things ahead regardless of this next 4 games.
We go 2-2: Beat Tennessee for TG’s first signature (home) win. Beat a surging, yet vulnerable, UK in Rupp. This would put us in a good spot to make tourney with a strong/manageable finish.
Questionable actually sounds promising, since with concussion protocol it's a strict procedure, so hopefully that means he will have passed all necessary procedures and precautions
This team isn’t even on the bubble. We will play in the NIT but have to travel. We won’t even get a home game.
Need to not fall behind in first half. Too difficult fighting back for a poor shooting team. KState out rebounded us as well
