I just read that Marcus Stokes has been offered by a HBCU (Albany St) I think we pulled his offer prematurely and it also happened within a couple of days of Rashada flipping so there is that.
Stokes is a project anyways that we only took, IN MY OPINION, because he was a fall back from us missing on our initial targets early in the spring/summer
Very unimpressive on film and at the Elite 11. He finished almost dead last. Seemed like a decent kid who did a dumb/indecent thing (on social media) and paid dearly for it. Glad social media wasn't a thing when I was in HS.
It is very ironic that he gets his offer pulled by the Gators but an HBCU is perfectly fine with him playing ball for them. What a great country.
So finishing last or close to last at the elite 11 competition is a bad thing? Bad as in being one of the top 20 QB'S in the country.
I think there were 20 kids there actually (why?). And not saying he's a terrible QB. Just that I didn't see anything that made him look like a strong prospect.
I’m glad he’s getting other opportunities. I hated what happened to him and I’m sure he meant nothing by it … but dude, have some self awareness. I don’t think a big fish bowl would have been good for him. And to be honest, I think the staff knew it and was looking for an opportunity to move on.
As I was reading the thread, this was the exact thing I was going to post. It’s absolute absurdity. SMH
Marcus Stokes is a terrible rapper and a mediocre QB, UF dropped his scholarship because of the latter and not the former this site isn't TMZ. Stokes was also offered by West Florida this week, why no post on that?
I believe they used his very public display of stupidity to cut ties with a sub-50% passer. Trevor Lawrence wouldn't have lost a spot over that video
Funny how this kid getting an offer from a HBCU is some social statement - boom! Right? No. Kid had his offer withdrawn because he wasn’t performing. Not b/c he was white or UF is woke. As mentioned above, if he balked out like Trevor Lawrence, he’d be at UF. Business decision so stop snowflaking.
