At some point will people begrudgingly reach the conclusion that Napier & Staff know what they’re doing even if they occasionally miss out on, or pass on a player they wanted? If we get things right on both sides of the LOS, the other players we have might start looking good enough as a unit to put a decent season together. At this point, 3 new experienced OL >> 1 x-fer QB Those two UF jets are all over the place and doing it quietly without helicopters and loudmouth boosters. Goodwin had been at Kentucky for one season, where he played on special teams. Absent a larger role and amid some offensive struggles and roster turnover, Goodwin opted to head for the transfer portal. They attempted to keep him there but were unable to convince him to stay , this is a big win for us next year ! we just need to get a good QB in the spring !
GC Article stated that they burned a year of eleigibility on 12 games (50 snaps) of special teams field goal play. Meanwhile he only played in 3 games on the OL with a small handful of snaps. Could be bitter they cost him a year kicking field goals rather than redshirting?
Good luck with Goodwin. From the KY side and according to people I trust, he was asked to do things to trim down and work hard and failed to do that. With how poor our line was last year and he didn’t play, tells me a lot. Players deserve another chance in most cases. I hope he does well for you guys.
It was a big recruiting battle between us and Bama. We were thrilled to win that battle, but upset he didnt do the things that were needed to get more on the field time.
