And don’t believe DeSantis panders to his base for his reactionary politics. I believe that DeSantis is a true believer. I think he believes the State should be run by hard Christianity and there is no room for dissent, nor is there room for differences of values or beliefs. His Culture Wars are very real to him as they represent a hard divide to his way of life and thinking.

Are you still OK with this if you live next door and are trying to sell your house because your company moved you?

DeSantis wants to execute more people.

DeSantis suggests allowing death penalty in Florida without a unanimous jury

DeSantis, in a speech to the Florida Sheriffs Association on Monday, expressed disappointment in the Parkland school shooter being given life in prison. Three out of 12 jurors voted against the death penalty in that case. DeSantis said death penalty verdicts shouldn’t be “vetoed” by one juror, and instead suggested a supermajority vote.

“Maybe eight out of 12 have to agree or something, but we can’t be in a situation where one person can just derail this,” DeSantis said.

Yes. But I'm also OK if my neighbor paints his door pink or wants to change his oil or work on his car in his driveway. As long as it doesn't impact my physical property.

Kind of hilarious that he's so desperate for positive DeSantis stories that he's posting about some random Republican club giving DeSantis an award. :emoji_joy:

Parents of school kids should stop whining and get to homeschooling.

And spare me the “But we both have to work” excuse.

If you truly believe your kid is being ruined you’ll find a way.

When I was in the 5th grade one of the books I read was a biography of Jackie Robinson. He is still one of my sports heroes over 60 years later. It recently occurred to me that the book would probably be banned under the DeSantis anti-CRT statute since it touched upon racism. Considering the books that have been banned I think that would have been the case.
From a list of banned books:
    https://pen.org/banned-books-florida/
Dad, Jackie, and Me, by Myron Uhlberg and Colin Bootman
The Hero Two Doors Down: Based on the True Story of Friendship between a Boy and a Baseball Legend, by Sharon Robinson
Henry Aaron’s Dream, by Matt Tavares
Thank You, Jackie Robinson, by Barbara Cohen and Richard Cuffari
Roberto Clemente: Pride of the Pittsburgh Pirates, by Jonah Winter and Raúl Colón

They are still under review and haven't been banned

DCPS disputes report that nearly 200 books have been banned from libraries, says books were never on shelves
