Pretty decent assessment of Anthony Richardson as an NFL prospect - the good and the bad.

I think this guy did a decent job breaking down the tape on Richardson. Actually had me coming away thinking a little better about his chances to be a 1st rounder. Oh, and haters that have no interest in actually watching the video - please stay out, thanks!

    In my head--- UF
    It’s 27 minutes. Skip the first 5-7.
Says AR is a 1st rounder. Could be great, could be a bust. Yes, AR should be a first rounder.

Does any person on this board see him going after 2nd round? Imma say no

Whew! Didn’t know any of that ;)

Thanks for the link, beats reading the gville sun

    Pretty good video.
Hopefully his post snap reads will improve with experience and his pocket presence will improve with an OL that he has some faith in.

Mel Kiper released his 2023 Mock NFL Draft and has AR going as the 9th overall pick to the Panthers. Wow!!

#9 overall, but #4 QB taken. That's a lot of early QBs!

That would be nice for two reasons
1: We get good coverage of the Panthers where I live
2: It keeps him from bouncing Trask out of a job in Tampa

    1. Another video showing how Coach Napier's so-called "high school" offense is being run by NFL teams. Whichever podcast started that nonsense should probably just . . . stop.

    2. The guy certainly hits all the positives of AR. Fantastic upside. A Top 5 arm the day he hits the NFL?! Can make throws only the elite NFL QBs even try?! Unreal athleticism. I only heard about 1/2 and didn't hear about inconsistency though. However, that usually disappears (if it will at all) with more experience and many forget this was AR's first year as a starter in college . . . in the SEC.

    3. I was surprised that all the intermediate routes, except maybe one, went to Pearsall. Not on topic but I can't wait for the freshmen track stars to hit the field for Florida!

    Thanks @DeepPurpleGator!

Pre snap and post snap need improvement. What disappointed me this season was that he didn’t make much progress on either. Can’t tell where his ceiling is in this regard. He’s a great kid who is hopefully willing to put in the effort to get to his ceiling and hope that is enough.

If it’s not, then i hope he stays healthy through his first contract. His athletic ability could make him a dangerous back up QB and that’s not a bad gig at all. In fact it’s a great career.

I'm just not sold on him as a pro QB. Shane Matthews, who played in the NFL for many years, has said from Day 1 that as much as he likes the kid personally, he's just not a winning QB and that the inconsistencies that he's had since youth football never developed in high school nor at UF. Amazing athlete and I wish him the best. I just think any NFL team is taking a huge risk on potential.

    He reminds me of Stanford.

One minute he makes incredible throws, the next minute he makes mind-boggling interceptions.

I don’t know what they’re seeing that I didn’t last season, but they must be going wholly off potential and nothing off performance. I saw serious headwork issues. I saw a guy who routinely put himself ahead of his team. That’s harsh, but it’s true. If I were an NFL GM, I’m looking somewhere else.

He’s too good of an athlete to not be on an NFL field. If the QB thing isn’t showing promise, I hope he is willing to switch positions. He would keep the entire NFL defensive coaching industry awake at night worrying.

I have to just say this. I don’t really care. Maybe he was held back by the coach, or maybe he held himself back because he didn’t want to possibly hurt himself and mess up his chance at the NFL. What I can say is his passes were consistently high, and I believe he would have greatly improved his play making and decision making with another year here. I am also a bit miffed he was here for so short a time, as a Gator. Well he’s gone now and he better be prepared to ride a lot of pine for a while.

Absolutely goes in the first two rounds an probably in the first half of the first round. Over under on being better than Dak Prescott……

The Panthers dont' have the media scrutiny that some places have, but with their poor QB play AR could be forced into starting very early.
IMO that would be the worst thing for AR.
I've said from the beginning that the Panthers are dumb enough to draft him- now mocks are showing the same thing.
I just don't think AR is mature enough to handle the NFL, but that won't stop Tepper from handing over millions.

First - I am all Gator and appreciate AR.
Second - I agree with Wanne and uftaipan and of course Shane Matthew's.

Hey, I hope the guy is drafted, starts and wins MVP.

But consider this - Does anybody think AR throws the pigskin better than Kyle Trask?

Yeah I know Brady is ahead of Trask, I get that. But Kyle could drop a dime in a quarter sized hole.

I just don't see it, hope I'm wrong.

It's impossible to even attempt an accurate guess with as little time as AR has had. Go back and watch Trask in his first couple of O&B games. Not very pretty. But at least Trask wasn't injured (that I know of) so he was able to continually practice and work.
It's not debatable that AR needs more work but if he's allowed that....I just don't see how people are so quick to say "he'll never have it".
    I wish him the best.
