    “That’s all we got?”.

He discussed the game a bit during the mizzou/Arky half. He made a solid point… Florida has made second half adjustments and improvements, but to win in this league… those adjustments have to happen sooner.

    fair point.

So glad to see PY doing his thing still. And I detected no lies in his breakdown.

Myron Jones should not have been taking that many shots down the stretch. I would have run plays for other players.

Agreed. His brick masonary is excellent, no doubt, but asking him to make a game winner is ..........well.........all on Golden.

At 10 - 8 I have resigned myself to reality. There are a few bright spots for growth. Hopefully Golden will learn and grow. I am not giving up on coach, patience is the key, I was just expecting better from this crew this year given all the preseason hype about the transfers. Think Riley, Fudge and Richards are a solid foundation to build on. Colin is doing all he can, I hope he makes all SEC first team.

That wasn't the play they wanted or even the second or third option. TAMU defended well on, apparently, the same set-up and if the pass wasn't made to Jones it would have been a 5-second call and we lose the ball without any timeout to use. TAMU left him open to catch the pass going away from the basket so they could switch and shade and guard more dangerous players.

I just did not see much movement. I think you need at least 3 options and double screens with the screeners moving to receive the pass and shoot. And have the passer move to receive the ball after he passes it in. Maybe I am wrong, but I did not see it. 5 secs is time enough to do more than we did in my opinion!! But with no time-outs left
maybe not?? I was never a fan of calling time outs to set something up. I would have rather been prepared in practice for any and all situations. I did not want to give the other coach time to get players in or set up his defense. Just my opinion!

The first option was going over the top to Castleton. But the play was doomed from the onset. That is a very tough pass under any situation, but trying to make it over a jumping, flailing, defending 6’10 Marble …. No way. Buzz showed his hand before calling a timeout. And we went back out with the same formation, and presumably same plan.

I think this is the type of thing we’re doing that I keep referring to as “ bone-headed”. The fact that he’s been the “ last-shot” option either at the end of shot-clock, at the half or at the end of games is not winning basketball. He been in that position a little too much for my comfort level.

I don't want to browbeat players and am happy things are looking up for Jones. Hopefully he can "shoot his way out" of his slump and he appears to be doing so now. As a matter of fact, without looking at stats, it seems like the Gators are shooting three's much better of late. The win against MSU was nice to see. Gators actually started well in the first half too, it's nice when they don't have to dig out of a big hole.

I was surprised when we went out, after the time-out by Buzz, with the same play. He’d seen our set-up already. That kind of “ Is that all you got?”.

Buzz saw our set, & forces UF to run that shot thru Jones as our best option, based on how they defended us.

That’s the 2nd time he’s out-coached us in the closing seconds of a game.

Agreed, I don’t either. That’s just not a shot situation I’d like Jones in very often.

I was disappointed when they came out of the timeout and hadn't put Reeves in. He's good at getting contested shots off (sometimes too often, but still....).
