https://wreg.com/news/investigations/tyre-nichols-and-memphis-police-confrontation-what-we-know/ 5 cops were pretty much instantly fired for the death of a guy they pulled over and arrested. Details are lacking but it looks like the beat him to death (right underneath a SkyCop camera). Hopefully swift Justice (or evidence that clears them) can calm things down.
AI robot policing might need to be the future. It seems to be too complicated for human beings to execute without these terrible events. This case seems to be trending towards an angry group of cops beat to death a suspect (with no apparent criminal past) for some real or perceived offense. Fortunately for justice it was under a camera.
I’d love, love, love there to be AI policing then when stats don’t change there won’t be anyone to blame. AI will be colorblind as it should.
Or when the stats DO change some people will finally wake up to the fact that many people in this country are needlessly killed by LE.
Stats will change. Where and how much might surprise us all. AI would be totally neutral. I like that. Like I said no complaints about any type of prejudice would hold any water. Win, Win, win, win
There'll always be someone to blame. AI will use criminal databases and analytics (aka profiling) to act. Perps will resist and trigger escalation protocols and deadly force. The media will selectively report. The blame will merely shift from patrol officers to the IT technicians employed by law enforcement.
Regardless of how stats change, police ass-kissers will continue to kiss police ass. Police know they'll always have the backing of their loyal #BlueLivesMatter sheep, which is why they continue to do stuff like what the officers in this story did even when they know they're being filmed.
Agreed. AI has no reason to use lethal force unless another person’s life is in immediate danger. So I imagine they would be able to neutralize most situations without killing anyone.
Certainly if they had that same white supremacist input and the mechanical equivalent of steroids, we can expect similar outcome. And they may even learn like real cops, and alter their data and coordinate their stories after a shooting.
Are you implying that the government of Memphis is republican, that the 5 black officers were republicans or the suspect? Memphis is an overwhelmingly democrat city (65% to 35%) so this is a weird post. Or are you one of "red state bad" drones who is incapable of logic beyond talking points?
I think it was clear he was talking about exploiting Breonna Taylor’s death at a dinner not the OP regarding the Memphis shooting.
