    1. it would look petty

    2. UF probably wants that NDA

In regards to 2 I’m not saying Napier or SS did anything wrong but they clearly do not want any bad publicity

Ngl, I was happy when he committed and signed, but I had this fear he would end up being another Feleipe Franks.

Regardless of who is at fault, this is one of the saddest chapters ever in the six decades I've counted myself a Gator. I'm truly glad it's finally over and done, and I for one am moving on.

Six decades of being a Gator and losing an 18yo recruit is one of the saddest chapters? :emoji_thinking:

Apparently Rumor has it, it wasn't 13 million it was 7 million Offered to beat out Miami's 6 million but apparently in order not to be Sued Because of a poison pill Language in the contract,UF would have had to pay that 6 million to miami and still be on the hook for the 7 we offered Jaden that equals 13 million that UF was not willing to pay

If that's true does that mean anyone that tries to sign him to another NIL deal would have to pay some Miami entity 6M first?

    That's not how it works
You can't transfer if you're not enrolled.
If UF denied his request. It would have gone to The NLI board to make a decision.to grant or deny and it would have been taken out of UF's hands. It would be dragged out for months and still be in the news talking about how UF denied this recruit his release.

Help me understand. If this is true, does it mean JR would have walked away from UM with their $6M in his pocket? If not, what could the UM folks sue for; what damages? If so, how is that not obvious pay to play? Doesn’t make sense to me.

The whole thing is Obviously pay for play, but it does explain why Ruiz couldn't comment on the rashada situation.

I can only speak for myself, but the manner in which UF is being dragged through the mud, whether deservedly or not, troubles me deeply. And the ominous implications NIL could have for the UF FB program and for CFB writ large are also disturbing. I would obviously agree with you that losing a single recruit is not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things. I'll also grant you that going on probation twice during the 80s truly sucked. Run Lindsay Run and a hundred other knives in the heart on the field of play were no fun either. I was crestfallen when the HBC left for the NFL and when Urban checked out and left us with a "broken" program that has never been truly repaired. But this particular situation has an element of chaos and nihilism I have never seen before and never suspected was even possible prior to the events of the last couple of years. For me, on a deeper level, the loss of a recruit is a long way from being the worst aspect of the potentially serious damage done to our reputation, and the generally sorry state CFB finds itself in today. So yes, speaking for myself alone, it is one of the saddest and most discomfiting moments I've ever witnessed as a Gator. That's just how I feel, though. Agree or disagree as you see fit. Con Respecto.

You can say it if it’s the truth. No one wants to be up front though. You can’t cheat and tell the truth at the same time. This system is really lame.

Cheating during SOS or Urban was done behind the scenes and the coaches had plausible deniability and didn’t have know about or supprt whatever went on. It’s just the dirt laundry out for everyone to see now. Napier can’t pretend he doesn’t know.Fred Taylor said in an interview not long back tgat he took 50k to play at Georgia. SOS didn’t have to get his hands dirty though, all he had to do is let it be known which players he was recruiting. This crap is pay offs in public for all to see.. yep, it feels much dirtier when you have no doubt it’s going on. Same shot, different day.

This will be out of the news cycle in a week or two max. In a month no one here will even think about it. The program will live on.
We won’t be the only school this happens to either. Guaranteed
