Election denier loses election, shoots up rivals homes

While there are nut jobs on both sides in only one of the two parties have a number of high profile office holders or candidates actively encouraged the nut jobs. Once again, not a single Democrat has suggested that the Second Amendment is a Constitutional remedy of last resort to be used in response to a repressive government. Not so with Republicans.

 

I agree that they primarily care about winning their own races. The problem is that you think endorsing DeSantis helps them do that. It doesn't. Because, quite frankly, the Republican rank and file politicians don't fear people like you not voting for them because they support Trump. Heck, DeSantis' entire primary strategy in 2018 was how much he liked Trump and how much Trump liked him. You will dutifully overlook that and they know it. Meanwhile, Trump's hardcore voters won't. They might not show up if they think the person they voted for is disloyal to Trump (which they will label "RINO" or some other such label). So a purely self-interested politician isn't going to cross those folks, who are still about half of the party. Because they will actually harm the politician for doing so, while you will still vote for them if they back Trump.

Give me 5 right wing positions you agree with. I can give you 5 left wing positions I agree with. Lets see where we each rank on the non partisan list. I've never seen you go after people on your own side on this board. Never. I am always calling out conservatives here.

1. Guns.
2. Health care.
3. Welfare
4. Tearing down statues
5. College tuition reimbursement

I think you see my point though. Some of us are truly moderate in our worldview. There is no candidate that fits our mold so we have to make choices in rank of importance of issue.

I just think it its ironic that the ones who accuse me of partisanship can't list 5 things.

Many of us are right where you are, there are plenty of things to disagree with candidates about. In the case of DeSantis I wish he would stay out of the weeds with some of his stuff, but in the grand scheme he is far better than the last two guys that ran against him. By miles.


Thankfully there are more moderate people in the world than evidenced by this board.

You would be voting for Dems on a regular basis. You're not. That list reads like the Democratic platform. Did you vote for Cooper in NC? I know you didn't vote for Biden against Trump even though you live in a potential swing state.

 

The reason you get accused of partisanship is that you hold yourself up as not partisan when you clearly are. Then you list a bunch of issues that you say you lean left on which is a total joke. Then you post stuff bashing Biden and praising DeSantis.

No one actually cares that you are partisan. Just own it like the rest of us do.
