I would have preferred Richard or Kugel to take the final shot. Golden seems to have confidence in just 6 guys right now. I was surprised that Bonham only played 3 minutes after scoring 21 in the earlier game. I think Castleton is playing too many minutes. Jitoboh seems to have regressed from where he was before the eye injury, but why pull him at two fouls when it was unlikely he would play in the second half anyway. In the last two games, Reeves seems to be light on his focus. Stepping out of bounds twice suggests lack of concentration.
Ah, that is weird. I've deleted my post since it wrongly attributed a statement to you. I think what happened was that I was originally going to respond to one of your posts, then changed my mind but failed to delete the attribution when I moved on in my murky universe to someone else's post to respond to. My bad.
What I attribute it to, the players missing the shots are either still learning the college game (Kugel) or the other team has put the offense in a sort of funk and they are not confident in what they are doing. Fudge is still kind of growing but Lofton is truly missing in his role on this team. He HAS to be one of the Big Two on a successful team.
Golden obviously trusts Jones over Bonham right now, I think more so on the defensive side. Castleton can take over a game but he has to have some help. That first half was nothing but the outside, nobody was moving through the lane. Second half was much better. I really like Kugel, kid is going to be a good player! Golden has to find a way to get Bonham involved but Jones has been playing pretty well. I think this team is close but we are missing something. Sure wish we had Key out there but that ship has sailed.
The layups…..I just don’t understand. Some of those could just be easy dunks. The number of layups missed this year are mind boggling.
