He will play in an exciting offense at Ol Miss who’s head coach was an OC for Alabama when they won the National Championship and is not afraid to hire a new OC to help out.
No it wouldn’t. We still do not have a viable QB for 2023. My point is the Spring transfer window is typically much worse for immediate contributors than the winter
Who is a viable QB for 2023? …is it Howard? #3 on LSU’s depth chart. Or Rashada? Whose parents forbid him to play with us and he needed to pick up his toys and go to another sandbox to play. I’m not sure what some of you want at this point. Napier & staff feel good with Mertz & Miller and the other options have dried up.
I would ask Bama fans why he was the first option off the bench because they moved a tackle to center for the injured center instead of a guard to center. Was their whole OL trash 2 years ago?
I'm not so sure about this. I think we can confidently say Napier felt good about Mertz for next year GIVEN THAT RASHADA WAS COMING. But I'd wager a fair amount that nobody in that fancy football complex feel good about the QB room for 2023 (and 2024) as it stands today. I think the fact that we made a late run at Howard confirms that he's not satisfied.
Do you have a PHD in QB assessment or a time machine - or is this just another over-heated opinion being offered up as an unassailable fact?
At this point we don’t have options. That’s the point Howard of course could flame out but he has potential. Our current options have low potential
Come on now. Mertz was not a highly sought after transfer for a reason. Wisconsin is happy he’s gone for a reason. He is a multi year starter and AR still outperformed him in his only year. And we aren’t too happy with AR here are we? I hope the heck CBN can fix him, but the most likely scenario is he is an Emory.
Great question. Kid had a great relationship with our coaches and chose to go be a 2/3 at Ole Miss. Dont see him beating out Dart and Sanders.
Math actually. It’s all about probabilities. Bama, UGA, UK, Tenn all have new QBs this year. All of which have better Qb situations for 2023 and 2024. This is the recruiting forum, no? Of course I hope Billy pulls a rabbit out of his hat. But we can be objective too and say we have one of the weaker rooms in the SEC
