Our nine year old finally got a trip to the library and knocked out the next 6 books in his favorite series yesterday, and then read another 8-10 kids books to his little brother. Readers read, 4 books a day isn't an unreasonable average for a kid who is a reader.

The night before our kids turn 11, they get the first Harry Potter book, with the rest of the set wrapped up for them the next day. The first three kids averaged about six days to complete the series, and they aren't allowed to take books to school or read at the table at meals.

    Readers read.

Update: After the committee that reviews books voted to keep And Tango Makes Three on the shelves, the Escambia County School Board overruled it tonight 3-2 and banned the book.

Escambia County drawing a line in the sand against Penguin porn.

There has to be a simmering anger among the more educated in the state about the actions of these modern day book burners. The ignorant fascists in this state can never be allowed to have this much power.

You can find about any book at a public library.

Take you kids there to read or check out books you are ok with.

    easy peasy

Good lord, not this again. It's easier to turn it the other way. If you don't want YOUR kids to read a book, revoke their library privileges.

Easy, peasy. Why are some of you so hell bent on minding others people's/families' business?
