That happened over a decade ago when I thought Jeff Driskel was gonna win a Heisman and that Louchiez Purifoy was gonna be Mathieu 2.0 after that LSU game in 2012.

No more room for eggs on this face, man.

Sucks that we couldn't make a viable run at Howard, given Napier's prior relationship and our desperate need. The Rashada situation has screwed the pooch for us. It may be 2 full years before our QB room recovers.

At this point we're relying on Mertz being much better than expected. I'm glad the coaches love him, but they seemed pretty high on Miller, too, which gives me little confidence.

Our QB room is the worst in the SEC and we couldn't even get Walker in for a visit....

 

There will be more transfer portal QBs to snatch.

But yes our QB room resembles 2016.

Let's hope some other QB's enter the portal because Sanders and Huard as the best options available is not so great. I would take Austin Reed over both of them if somehow, he could be convinced to leave lol.

Well, that's only fair I suppose.....we laugh at "Big Ten football" all year....

 

They certainly weren’t world beaters but they did win some games.

Those that are wanting to tag Miller as a “bust” already, are basing that on 1 game. And the rest of the team didn’t exactly help him. As for Mertz, the staff sees something in him. And they have been on point with their talent evaluations up till now.

I do agree that we don’t have any championship level QBs on the roster. Though, it doesn’t mean we can’t be competitive.
