So happy for him at KState but a part of me wishes that he should be with us still. Another bad issue we have had to our athletics program. Dude is an absolute beast!!!! Unfortunately he will go nuts on Florida when they Play
Just dunked an alley oop to go ahead by one in overtime with Kansas. And they win! Guy looks healthy to me Player of the game, man I love it and I hate it.
That alley oop dunk to win it in overtime was sick. What a difference he would have made in this team.
Just caught overtime. Took me awhile to recognize him, maybe the uni threw me. Happy for him, but tough to watch. Huge alley oop dunk in o/t for the k state win over Kansas. Yea, he was dominating for K state. 24 pts and 8 rebounds.
Mike white could recruit. Just couldn't do much with it. But there were more than a few studs in his classes who found greatness elsewhere.
Not KJ exactly, but it was funny watching bill self call a timeout a half a second b4 his guy hit a 3 pointer that would have won it for Kansas.
KState is a FUN team to watch. And Keyontae is their best player. Definitely my #2 team right now. I didn't realize we have to PLAY THEM!!! they'll be top 10 after tonight, I assume.
All I can do is wish him well. He took the chance that playing won't hurt him. If it turns out in his favor then I will be happy.
I agree! He's always been 100% class and I wish him great success. If you don't already know that you should just go ahead and remove "gator" from your username. We allow respectful rivals.
Happy for KJ and wish he was still a Gator. Just a difficult situation as I'm sure UF didn't want to be liable for KJ's return to basketball. I wonder if UF considered approaching KJ with an agreement that if he wanted to play again he would sign something that would protect UF. Obviously, KSU felt good enough about letting KJ play again.
It was an honest question. I seriously don’t remember why he left. I know what happened at the FSU game. I didn’t think he was going to play basketball anymore. I lost track of his situation. Anyway ET Gator I’ve been a Gator fan since the 60’s. I’m in Jonesborough, where are you?
Okay, if it helps. He collapsed on the court and could have died. He obviously recovered but because of a condition for which the administration could not recognize as being "fixed", if he played for UF and collapsed again and had a debilitating injury or death, UF would have been set up for a HUGE liability suit. He chose to continue with playing basketball at a school who either could not be held liable or took a gamble. This is in the face of his having an insurance policy that he could have cashed and had some semblance of financial security. I presume his "success" has voided any insurance claim.
