Not at all. But go ahead, explain why my comment is so silly. Enlighten me.

    Exactly.

Who are we gonna get? Sturdivant could have been a WR1 here, but he went to UCLA. He was never coming east.

I think some folks on here just want to bring in guys for the sake of bringing them in, because they care more about our "portal ranking" than actually upgrading the roster.

Considering the incoming freshmen, I don't think it's weak at all.

More talent? For someone we bring in, we're going to lose someone else. Sure, I'm on board with getting a proven WR from the portal to replace someone like Thai Chicka Bowman (or whatever his name is) on the depth chart, but that's not realistic, and shouldn't be a high priority anyway.

Nobody complained when Etienne started getting more PT as the season went on. For incoming freshmen, it's easier for a RB or WR to make an immediate impact than any other position group. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm really excited about the trio we have coming in. Why would we want to bring in a portal guy to block them if he's not a clear upgrade? That's like wishing Etienne had stayed glued to the bench all year so Nayquan Wright could get his touches.

Are there any Toneys in the portal? Even if that answer is yes, are we convincing them to come here?

Are you suggesting that Mizell, Wilson, and Jean are all going to be bums?

Yep, either really good or let our young guys eat. I’m for getting the freshmen playing anyway.

Mizell is really thin. Needs to bulk up. EW3 will be an immediate impact, but he’s not an EE. Just look at our depth chart at WR. It’s not good and it doesn’t take much to see. Henderson is barely an SEC starter. Douglas had no business starting last year and Bowman was to provide depth, not getting significant minutes like he did last year. Mullen’s recruiting here left us really thin. We have 1.5 proven starters in Pearsall and Hendo. That’s it. Need to bring in a transfer with D1 results.

If you’re not willing to discuss (see this post) it’s pointless right?

    Exactly.

Your first post to me suggested you didn’t want RP- was that a misread? I have some folks on ignore so it may mess up my thread reading

Not sure I follow, but just for the record, I absolutely 100% want Pearsall. He is BY FAR our most reliable WR and losing him would be huge. I just don't think adding another guy from the portal is a big need. Pearsall, Henderson, and one of the freshmen is a fine 1-2-3 for next year.

Probably just chalk this one up as a simple miscommunication.

Caleb Douglas needs to have a solid year. I think he’s more than capable and will surprise. 25-30 catches from him would be huge. Gotta find ways to make sure Pearsall isn’t always doubled.
Understatement of the year, but I hope we absolutely come out throwing and get better and better at it as boxes will be stacked.

If you can’t throw against a stacked box, you have a bad offense.

Or you have a QB that can't process the field and sling to rock to the correct player.

Yeah, we be better practicing throwing a lot in spring and early August because we are going to see stack the box every game until we prove we can throw
