Don’t beat yourself up too much. We are celebrating a 3 game win streak after running our last coach out of town. To Athens, of all places. KY has built up 10x the equity UF has, over the years. And Cal hasn’t burned through that much of it.

Let’s just both enjoy a drink that our teams had great wins today. Cheers!

maybe, but if he posts something like he did about Cal being a failure, I'll call him out on it for being a typical arrogant UK fan that expects to be in Final 4s and winning championships. I'm not saying that they shouldn't expect that being a blue-blood and all, but that is arrogant of them. Cal has won 78% of his games there and most programs would love that record, but to the arrogant UK fans, that's a failure. Coach K's winning percentage at Duke was 76%, I wonder if they thought he was a failure.

You can have your opinion and I can have mine. It has been a failure in my eyes. Kentucky has been 4-14 against Top 25 competition in the last three years. We have over 40 pros, but only have one national championship. In that time Calipari has made over 90 million dollars….

Calipari is not in the same hemisphere as Coach K has 5x as many championships.

I may be biased as I can’t stand him. I’ve stated this on here for years but I am not a fan of the UK coach being here longer than 8-10 years as it gets stale.

Let him remain the UK coach in the afterlife?

But you are still missing my point that UK fans (typical or not) seem to EXPECT championships on a regular basis and that expectation is one of arrogance.

Gator football fans were arrogant after SOS and the Urban years as well as BB fans after BD won with the 04s.

Yes, but Coach K has 5 titles, compared to 1 by Calipari.

I might be wrong, but from what I gather, you and some other UK supporters would prefer a little more continuity and less mercenary players.

Cal's biggest weakness, imo, is his over reliance on one and done type players. With those guys, every year is almost like a rebuilding season. By season's end, they're one of the best teams in the country, but it took all season to get there. By then, its too late to make a run to a NCAA tournament championship.

Agree that there are plenty of really good coaches that could do it the other way and succeed.

Yes!! The other issue is this is a very old team for us and we are still getting our ass best. If Calipari is still here next years group is a bunch of so called one and dones. It is a very tiring process for sure.

    No.

Cal has shown that, with Kentucky's blue blood brand, he can recruit the best collection of individual talent nearly every year. And, when you have the top recruiting class year after year, expectations rise considerably.

Yet, Cal has not consistently assembled and developed national title calibre TEAMS. As a result, he has delivered only 1 title.

More parity in college basketball now. Alcindor and Walton not staying 4 years in college to create dynasty programs or winning streaks. No Rupp, Hall or even Coach K type coaches now. Recruiting, NIL and one and dones suck the joy out of coaching. Look at coach from Villanova, Wright, who needed to get out for personal well being.

No wonder Billy left the college ranks when he did. And its even worse now than it was in 2015.

UK is dancing. They’ll get another q1 win at UF especially now that Colin is out. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.

I am unashamed to admit how much I miss Coach Billy D.
He is tied with SOS in my lexicon of all time greatest UF coaches in the Football and Basketball arenas.

I miss him as well. I knew when he left, things would never be the same. Sadly, this has proven to be correct.
