Go Gator Basketball. Beat a ranked team and Golden showed great intensity. Bothers me to see teams not performing and coaches not engaged and energetic. And then compliment everything after a loss. That’s a quad one win for golden and his guys today and a ton of credit to him. His kids feel his urgency.
Next up: at A&M who plays at South Carolina in 10 minutes. A&M is the new hotness. We're not the same team we were when we lost at home to them (or at least, I tell myself.)
Keeping things in perspective, we have won three straight against teams with first year coaches at their school. It is tougher against teams with established players in established systems. But hopefully Golden is figuring out his squad and we will continue to improve.
Only 5 in the second half, against 7 for Mizzou. We evened them up in points off turnovers and were +6 in fast break points. Those were the difference makers Golden repeatedly mentioned to media leading up to the game, and it played out exactly that way.
Aren't we also one of those teams with a first year coach? I think it just shows he is figuring out his rotation, has gotten buy-in defensively, and has found a way to run modestly effective offense despite not having good shooters.
