Just asked the question because, as I said, it can be hard to filter the BS around here; and someone did, as you know, take that shot at the Boosters. Glad you are not one of those flame throwers.

Sorry, if my defensive statement seemed ostentatious. I anticipated someone would school me on a fact, or rumor, I had missed. Should have let that go because frankly the MS means nothing to me except it filled a square for the USN back in the day. However, I congratulate you for your academic achievements. I thought being a Marine was achievement enough, although that would not involve much reading. Eh?

If the 13 million figure is real, we are ridiculously overpaying for an unproven high school recruit. This kid may not even win the starting quarterback job. He also may get disgruntled and leave after one year. There are way too many red flags here.

What i find amazing is McClain reportedly had a deal with Miami and never registered. Never heard about any disputes (however now he is still looking). No blame on Cristobal in the media, and no talking about dysfunctional Miami collective? 2 weeks prior to signing day, it's been written that both sides in the Rashada committment knew the deal was a no go for some reason which is unknown at this time, (although many think they know from reading rumors in the media.). Yet Rashada sends in a signed LOI? Unless this is headed for a law suit, which is unknowable at this point, the way this has been reported really doesn't make any sense.

You don't know that. You have absolutely ZERO evidence to back that up other than your OPINION. Why didn't they win when he was there? They were absolutely loaded with talent then too. Point being, some things matter more than 40 time and arm strength and the opinions of jock-sniffing, recruiting guy. Bottom line, I'm glad this kid is not signing. I don't want him, nor do I want players like him. If that means 8-4, so be it. I was there in 06-08. Nobody ever tops that and I doubt anyone will ever match it. This era is dead to me.

Okay. . . Lincoln? You there?

    Chip?

Stay home dude. You'll just end up transferring to the west coast anyway. Or go to UM. You'll be such a perfect fit there. The selfishness and vapidity. It's got you written all over it.

LOL you are the one moaning over NIL, how it's ruining the sport you love. Me, I'm riding the wave and looking forward to next season watching the Gators play.

I laugh at all the posters proclaiming they are done with college football. All of them will be here next season still whining.
If you are done, delete your account and move on.

It would have ZERO support outside of maybe UF, Texas . . . Vandy? Honestly, the rest would probably protest it's creation.

I over reached when I said a lot of people. Thanks for the call out. You ae correct on your statement on "how it works". Also, I know that you are up on this subject more than I am. Most of my comments are direct to the other people on this thread.

I agree. The "putting enough buffer" statement does create some issues'
1, The schools per NCAA requirements cannot pay the athletes directly. Yes this requirement does take onus off the schools on being the manager and the payee of NIL's.
2, On the other hand the Florida laws, puts the state collages into a real tight crack on when the discussion between the school and the recruit/family comes to NIL. By the law the school cannot become an obstacle on what NIL agent they choose. The coaches in the state are very wary to touch on the NIL topic. One reason is that if they promote one NIL agent over another that they can be accused of being an obstacle. This may sound far fetched but in today's recruiting completion, a misstep in this area can be a costly step. Recently, I read post that accused Napier of not getting into the NIL area. The fact is, Napier does not want to get caught up into the issue of violating state law.

You are correct. It appears that Miami is not doing it on their own. That is why the NCAA is investigating them now As I mentioned earlier that may be one of the reasons why Rashada flipped to the Gators. Please note, Miami will not be in violated with the state law in Florida because they are a private school.

It's comical that they're even attempting to do this. I'm literally laughing as I type this thinking about how ridiculous this notion of separation is or that the NCAA is going to actually try and enforce it. Or that another lawsuit won't just tear it down anyway.

This is college football. The institution the player plans to attend is not only relevant, but crucial in determining their value to me (booster/"potential client"). Same with the pros. Cowboys give my brand better visibility so, if everything is even, it's a better buy than a guy who plays for Tennessee.

I am done and so are a lot of others too. I watch the Gators and that's it (that's in me and will never go away). Literally haven't watched more than 30 minutes total of any other games. That's for the entire season. I'm not alone and the numbers are growing. At this point, it almost looks as if the problem will solve itself. Or maybe that's just the best chance of returning it to sanity.

And considering the successes of the women's teams and individuals (Olympics, etc.). WTF man?
