So spirits were involved ;) and the 13 was 1.3 and exposed on the 13th? Coincidence, I think not.

What a dumpster fire, but at least it’s not soccer

As detailed as Napier is, I doubt it.

That number sounds high, but I think is about right over 3/4 years. The other number is the $1.5M payment that was expected and not delivered.

I just find it hard to believe a guy claiming he’s not gonna get into bidding wars and is big on culture approving that kind of number. Obviously this assuming that number it true.

Of course, but do you really think that applies to these kids? I don't.

Just because they are kids does not mean they are idiots. Some idiots. and some have some common sense. It’s the coaches job to find the right ones. And if an offense of lineman is mad that a quarterback is getting paid 10 times more than him, he’s the idiot.

No, I think that most of those that played and the new recruits of Napier have bought in, so I don't expect that. aTm's though must be a nightmare.

Isn’t this the reality in all of pro sports? Just take a look at the salary disparities on any team, especially a championship team. I always get a kick looking at who won the World Series and which players got paid the most. Oftentimes, the veteran pitcher that was signed for a huge amount didn’t contribute at all, but the guys making next to nothing are who brought home the championship. It’s something that pro players have to live with.

If the 13 million number is right, which is mind blowing to me, I wonder if that would be up to 13 mil. Possibly a minimum amount plus performance bonuses?

I'm trying to understand why people keep trying to tie performance to NIL? Not specifically you, it has been brought up several times.

That's not what it is for. It's for autographs, promotions, interviews, meet and greets. Etc.
Unofficially it's for pay to play but no agent is going to agree to it being performance based.

Performance based contract would be something negotiated between the school and player if they were actual employees.

So nobody else sees the problem with Rashada potentially making more than Napier? If Napier gets canned in season 3, Rashada will have made more than the freaking coach? Just turn it into NFL JR already, this is absurd. That 13 mil CANT be correct, right?

Probably ways around the specific mention of performance in a contract. Bonuses could pertain to mentions on TV (sportcenter, awards, etc). Press volume in general.... all of which are typically byproducts of high level performance. An insofacto performance based bonus structure. I am sure some lawyer smarter than me could figure out how to exploit the grey

Rashada isn’t making more than Napier. That $13M is over 3-4 years, so about $3-4M a year.

Serious question. How many of these kids get screwed from handshake deals and companies strategically backing out of NIL deals (legally, of course)?
