Selling me a premium priced ticket as Bama does and putting an inferior product on the field feels kinda like I’m being robbed. They need to get off the fence. Charge me 50 bucks to sit on the 50 and play another team that’s not trying to compete with the big boys if that’s what they chose. I may watch that on tv if I don’t have any paint to watch fry I guess. I’m done paying 300 to sit on the 50 and lose to LSU if we aren’t going all in to be competitive. I can take losing but not without full effort.

I still think that # is fantasy and since one site published that fantasy all the other sites appear to have the all-clear to copy it. However, whatever the number, since we know exactly nothing anything is possible.

My bigger question is where does this NIL issue go from here? How long is this model of boosters buying players sustainable in the current form?

I don't care how many million dollars a booster has, how much are they really willing to GIVE AWAY each year to buy players ... for the good of the school?! How many times are these boosters going to be willing to pony up?

Booster don't gain anything directly from doing this other than feeling good about helping their school of choice and a little recognition. If the teams win it's the schools that benefits.

The other thing I don't think most people realize yet about the NIL money is this hurts the schools. Booster aren't giving more money. They're redirecting money they would have donated to the school (for a tax break) to pay athletes. Schools are almost sure to see significant reductions in their overall booster contributions, which means the athletic department infrastructure and facilities will suffer.

In my opinion, at some point soon, this NIL model is going to have to evolve into more of an investment model where the boosters invest money to buy players and get a return on their investment if the team wins.

It appears that the UAA doesn't care what fanny is in the seat as long as there is a fanny in it. They probably won't mind if they are LSU, Bama, or even FSU fannies occupying those premium seats. Of course the longer we continue down that road, then the match-up becomes less and less compelling even to the guys that used to love to see their team beat the brakes off the mighty Gators. That is called the Vanderbilt model.

Why would anyone in the program balk? This is a separate entity (you know ... the one) managing NIL deals independent of the school.

If we're being honest about how it probably works it's likely channels that go from the school to [unnamed organization] who to talk to. Whether a recruit signs a $1M or $100M NIL deal doesn't really matter to UF, it doesn't come from the budget.

Not much and not for very long. I think if you're a HS athlete this is the hey day for getting paid and I don't blame them for getting the $. After a few rounds of busts the money will start to dry up a bit.

If by program, you mean the team/coaches and not the school administration and UAA, yes, it means a lot, because those scarce donor moneys pay for all of the players, and just getting one player like a Rashada who has just potential, could mean you lose out on 5 to 10 linemen who could be immediate contributors and potential stars. On top of that it could create terrible locker room dynamics, of which we are hearing reports.

John Morgan isn't giving a penny to athletics if that penny could make a difference politically. Different people have different priorities.

But it goes into the locker room. If I were a productive starter and some high school kid came in with a deal that dwarfs mine.......... internal team troubles with a capital T.

If the.$13MM is correct, that would prob make him the biggest NIL deal in the nation. For that price, we should've been able to buy ANY recruit we wanted not named Manning. Definitely not worth the ROI.

The figure is crap and probably infuriating those around UF because it’s making us look bad. My guess is that he signed something with Ruiz and to get out of it Florida’s collective (really Guard) had to buyout that contract and then negotiate with Rashada. They probably want him to take less which he should since he caused the buyout in the first place going somewhere he really didn’t want to go.

I’ve read that rumor and it’s plausible along with Ruiz saying he can’t comment.
