You can't outscheme to the level of Spurrier anymore but Kyle Trask was quite the equalizer. We'll see how his NFL career eventually pans out but so far he's looking closer to Danny Wuerffel than Matthew Stafford or Joe Burrow, ie he's not an elite pro talent. It's all moot because it appears Mullen completely checked out but it could have been a viable strategy to hope to find a Trask level QB every 3-4 recruiting cycles.

Sometimes things happen and it's no one's "fault" in particular. You can still improvise, adapt and overcome . . . but it might take slightly longer due to change of circumstances.

Yes . . . I would encourage everyone to read that published article.

Mr. G. Allan Taylor has apparently seen and read documents I have not yet.

As always, if you can't read the article, please let me know by PM.

I wouldn't call Top-20 in the world "suck". We're like Spain or Argentina in basketball. A few NBA players, even some nice ones, but nothing compared to Team USA. Weird thing for me is how physically weak we are compared to the top teams. I kind of expect our teams to be big and fast, but lack some skill. In reality, we have some nice skill players but no muscle. England's back line was, on average, 3-4 inches taller than ours. Holland's was even more. In fact, we were significantly shorter at those positions than everyone in our group, even Iran.

I agree with you on this one. How many on here remember that UF was building a very good wrestling team that was discontinued because of Title IX.
Maybe they can find a way to use NIL in lieu of Title IX, in another thread it shows that former Gator D-Lineman, Wally Smojver has already lined up NIL money for the women's basketball team.

seems all fishy and illegal -- X million dollars deposited prior to enrolling in school....
    pretty obvious this isn't NIL.
what kind of professional athletes outside the big guys have a 13 million dollar endorsement deal? can't be many right? only the elite at each sport?

No we suck at Mens soccer cause our best athletes dont play that shit, they follow the money, and there is no money for Mens Soccer in US, the rare really good ones get the hell out and go play in the euro leagues.

Except this environment is greasy. I don't like it, and frankly, I'm embarrassed that representatives the University of Florida offered (allegedly) $13 Million dollars to a high school quarterback.

We don’t really care about soccer as a whole yet if colleges supported it, we may be a bit better. More kids are playing soccer now and less are playing football. All my friends played football and only nerds played soccer. Times have changed.
do one or the other but I won’t be watching that shit.

College soccer is garbage. If you're 18yo and not already tracked for bigger things at a decent (Premier or second division team), you're done as far as the top level. If we want to get better, we have to send our kids over there probably around 16yo and get them into their academies. Consider that our best player ever (Christian Pulisic) was bought for 60M by Chelsea at 19yo (after developing in Germany) and immediately had to face off with Mason Mount, a Chelsea academy kid (from England) who was 4 months younger but already better and more physically strong. It's like a basketball player from Spain. Want to be the best? You've got to compete against and beat the best. And that's here. In soccer, it's over there.

No representative of the University of Florida allegedly offered anyone anything. Directly from the article:

"Multiple conversations ensue between donors and athletic department members, including Castro-Walker and Stricklin. Some within the administration are only now getting up to speed on what was promised — the program aiming to keep these third-party NIL dealings at arm’s length."
