Agree, pretty fine line there. Big news sites are tell big lies too, and make the same spins when they’re wrong.

Yet that’s where the money should come from like every other sport, fan support to franchise that pays the team. Schools are putting this on, yes the same fans to pay salary on top of tickets, tv contracts which fans generated. Yepper, these big boosters and small donation collectives are paying the players too. Schools want all the profits to themselves.

in 2021 ncaa football generated 1.16 billion in revenue. the head coaches are making tens and sometimes hundreds of millions of dollars a year whether they win or not, tv contracts pay out big bucks. but the very last straw for you is the big time recruits/stars making some money? and THAT somehow is going to bring down the entire billion dollar industry? doubt it. too many people (other than athletes) are making WAY too much money for that. if you don't want to watch, don't, that's fine. it's the NIL pushing people over the edge out of the "purity" of the game that puts a bad taste in my mouth. how dare the athletes that you are supposedly fans of and cheer for participate in the multibillion dollar system. interesting that's where you draw the line. It became a giant $$$$$ industry a long, long time ago.........

If this were on the kid, we may have cut him loose already. This more than likely is lawyers and contract structure that is out of the kids control.

Because all of these, except for the coaches, are non profits who put the money back into the program/institution. The only one's getting rich are the coaches (some) and the players will cry if the non-profits aren't willing to buy the best coaches, best facilities, etc. You're confusing this with the NFL where the owners literally shove that cash into their pockets. The same NFL that generates more profit than any league in the world, yet is the only one with ZERO commitment to player development. Well played NFL. You've even got folks like lorigatormom shilling for you.

Nope but the fans/ boosters in tge seats are exactly the ones footing the bill. Collective is we the fans chipping in 100% of that money. The school pays nothing.

What do schools do with the 100 mil a year? Give a guy with no ability to be in calculus class a degree in basket weaving? They want to be included in what they are helping generate. Nobody watches Ivy League crap football, these kids are the best in the world and yes, it is the nfl farm system 100%.

$88M Football Facility (demanded by players), Coaching salaries, debt service (big part) for things like new baseball stadiums, upgraded stadium amenities, etc. operation cost for every single sports program and their respective facilities. . .

Here's one back at you. Outside of the top-level coaches, who's getting rich? Who's buying yachts? Who's the Jerry Jones of CFB buying yachts off the player's sweat?

They have a whole category for recruiting and news like this, big time QB and big time school, would definitely be on their site if they had all the details.

My point is they’ve not run any story of Rashada asking out from his LOI. Recruiting sites took a rumor and ran with it.

I'm not saying it's right. I'm being realistic. the players generating the billions of dollars for others that you are supposedly fans of DO deserve good coaches and facilities. Why don't you support them? I mean without good coaches and players there literally is no product to root for. the players shouldn't have to "cry" for decent facilities and coaches, that's asinine and insulting. that's my point, not that the ncaa SHOULD be a multibillion dollar behemoth (that ship sailed a LONG time ago) with or without players getting a tiny piece of the pie, it's that the only anger here is toward the players. If I were a star player or family reading these boards seeing people who get literally angry at players getting legal NIL contracts, better housing, indoor practice facility (finally) I would think these aren't fans at all and that they don't, in fact, like the players at all. I'm not shilling for the nfl, I'm saying anger/resentment at the players is misplaced and counterproductive

Ivy League is a terrible example. Small schools and only a very small portion of the student body even cares about sports. The only schools where academics trump sports and always will, where academics are where the league and its institutions have gained all their fame and notoriety. On that note, Georgia fans seem to have no trouble rooting for Stetson Bennett as hard or harder than they did Justin Fields.

They won’t get the fans generating that billion a year without Emmits and Tebows. Talented football players is what brings in the money.

Who's getting rich off the sweat of the players? Outside of the coaches (which they demand), who is getting rich? I've explained what that pays for. You're just being emotional and leaving out a lot of important details to serve the emotionally-charged point you're trying to make. The NFL makes more money than any league in the world - by a mile - and yet has zero minor league, zero option for going pro early (like every other pro league in the world). But it's the NCAA (non-profit) fault and the fault of it's non-profit members.

Whatever, it's going to end anyway. Biggest boosters are off a generation that is going to die off in the next 20 years and my generation (x) and those younger aren't going to pony up the money like our parents and grandparents did.

They do something with the money and every other sport on the planet tgat generates tgat type of cash gives half to the players. Keeping 100% is stealing.

Pretty bad examples there dude. You mean guys who stayed 3-4 years and that the fans actually got to know?

And a total bullshit argument. SEC fans (and most college fans) are there for the jersey not the 4.2. Jock sniffers are there for the 4.2. Again, Georgia fans aren't wretching at the idea of Stetson Bennett at QB. They're not walking away because a short overachiever with no NFL prospects is playing the position. So, yeah, this argument is garbage. Unless we're talking about the "casual" fan (see: UM fan). And who cares about them. They're who the NFL is for.

Go look up the financials of the UAA dude and tell me what gets cut, who's getting rich, etc. You're either dumb (which I doubt) or intentionally oversimplifying this to a ridiculous degree.

Also, those are pro leagues and were from the beginning. That's how they are set up. And how they've been set up from the beginning. Labor and Management, just like every other for-profit business.
