On3 almost screwed us getting Dijon Johnson by reporting news before it happened.

Is what happening? Havent seen any credible information at all yet. Only the typical beat writers conflicting anecdotes.

 

To be fair, it isn't just this Rashada drama. It has been a nonstop roller coaster with the QB position going back to Thanksgiving.

Agreed. Program isn’t stable enough to avoid these types of situations. Winning cures quite a bit on all fronts.

 

Not with winning programs. LSU just had their top 5 star QB from last year hit the portal. The problem is the NIL negotiations made its way into the public. No one saying anything, it left reporters opportunities to speculate and create a story. It’s all negotiations and leverage. I don’t like it but this is the new college football.

 

It’s more than likely about the details of the deal and not necessarily just money. Although money is a large part of the equation, the when/how that money is paid out probably is the thorn in the deal. Not sure about any fam elsewhere.

Not sure about dropping to 20th but yes there would be a gap this year at the QB spot. Mertz at QB will likely surprise folks. 3 years of starting experience in a P5 conference should not be overlooked. We haven’t had a consistent starter with 3 years starting experience in many years. Lagway can still RS if Mertz plays his 2 years. It’s not over with Rashada but it is feeling a little icky. Go Gators!!!

Well all this NIL drama and bad publicity (in big picture of college football, not UF) will be what eventually kills viewership in games. Just as the playoffs have become boring since its always the same teams have changed thebplayoff format.

Once NIL makes a few teams stand above rest, and viewership declines dramatically, the powers that be (TV money) will dictate changes to NIL.

Until then, we are in for a decade or so of players coming and going every year between schools and not much drama in the season because the same teams will be the top teams everybyear... more so than now.

This was likely a known potential of happening and why Lagway was asked to graduate as early as possible.

If the large numbers passed around are real, shame on us for getting into this embarrassing exchange. Bigger question is did we miss on Several others because of him.

 

It’s a ConTrac and that’s how contracts go. I’m not sure which side is trying to prevent themselves from being screwed but it has to be done properly. Obviously somebody dropped the ball on one side or the other and it is being worked out now. I’ll vote that it’s a greedy lawyer even though it’s possible that it is a greedy student.

 

If there aren’t any legal ramifications, they still got all the clicks and they will do it again
