Actually. It is the truth. But if you want to virtue signal…by all means. Outside the few circumstances that existed preCovid where one might need a mask (N95/KN95)….there is no need.

Yeah, just look at china. They probably get shot if they forget their n95 out in public.

They don’t work to protect anyone from Covid. And while some will dismiss the psychological/mental harm of removing facial expressions from communication…it is real. Even for adults. Sure we can adapt better than kids. But I am certain her grandfather would prefer to see your faces. Especially considering the masks are really being worn for no reason.

Again there are situations where it may be that all involved should and need a N95/KN95. But the vast majority of the time. Masks are being worn out of virtue or being blinded by the propaganda.

From Day One people were constantly fidgeting with their masks, pulling them down, forgetting to put them back on after taking them off.

No great surprise. They’re stupidly unnatural.

Occasionally you see them here. Certainly not being pushed by any businesses. And yes. When you do. Very rarely are they worn properly.

The chart on the left is if the receiver is wearing a mask and the infected person is not. The chart on the right is if the infected person is wearing a mask and the receiver is not.

If someone wears a cloth mask and is exposed to someone who is infected, the mask wearer only reduces the amount of virus they are receiving by a minimal amount, less than 20%. Cloth masks aren't super effective at reducing how much virus you receive, but are better than nothing.

If the person who is infected is wearing a mask and the receiver is not masked, the viral load received is less than half of that if the spreader was not wearing a mask.

Masks are about source control. When the virus leaves the body, it is attached to droplets that are much larger than the virus, and masks are effective at stopping the virus at this point. When the virus arrives at the receiver, the droplet has evaporated and the virus is small enough that even an N95 doesn't provide complete protection. Wearing a mask is about protecting the people around the mask wearer more than it is about protecting the mask wearer.

My mask protects you, your mask protects me. I'm willing to wear a mask to avoid infecting others. Some people aren't willing to put up with that inconvenience to themselves to protect others.

Good find. Masks obviously help. If one had to walk through a room full of people who had covid, only a fool would say he wouldn't care if they were masked or not.

We have a patient occasionally come in with a mask. Typically not worn properly. But then they have to spend 30 minutes with their mouth open and mask off lol.

To each their own. We treat everyone the same. But it really is a head scratcher.

In 1919 large studies had men coughing in each other’s faces and ZERO got the so-called Spanish Flu. Bear in mind that studies this aggressive would not be allowed today.

Oh yeah. Novant health here in Wilmington still requires them. I had an injury requiring surgery in October last. All visits (and follow ups) were masked.

    Annoying, but no biggie

Nope. True, but keep masking up to virtue signal. It's crazy people think the masks 99% of people use actually work. It'd be funny if we weren't also making kids mask even though we know they don't work.
