A lot of conflicting info. Now I’m reading that he might be the one behind it and that another lawyer is being brought in to try and work out the situation. I guess all we can do is sit and wait for it to play out. No one will ever know what really happened except those involved but I don’t care; as long as it results in us getting our guy and not be hurt going forward with recruiting NIL.

This would have been a good way to ask WITHOUT mentioning the rumor.

Or you can substantiate the rumor with an article, like the second guy who brought it up did.

First, @GatorGrowl is responsible for the entirety of Gator Country and may not answer your question in a thread as quickly as you prefer @gatorraid1989 . Anyway, I can answer it too.

This is not difficult. The difference is an unsubstantiated social media rumor (which Gator Country doesn't spread) and an unanswered program or player question.

Once a question is raised and published by a credible source . . . in other words there is usually a news link . . . we can and do post it and discuss it like anything else involving the Gators before there's a final answer. Coach Napier or the player may not give that definite answer for some time but we still discuss it.

When all there is are unsubstantiated social media rumors, Gator Country is not the place to come and further spread them.

Many of our members turn to Gator Country to find out what's actually happening rather than what Facebook claims Twitter said might be happening. @GatorGrowl just wrote a couple of weeks ago that he has known journalists who have sourced a story from Gator Country.

From what I hear, he's taking advantage of being in that position to make some bucks off the Rashada NIL contract. Maybe some stuff in the contract that aint supposed to be there. Kind of vague. But yeah, dude needs to go.

It's a question of degree and to be candid, responsibility. I couldn't come on here and suggest "hey I heard Coach Bocephus is smoking crack with members of the Gator ice fishing team. Other sites are saying it's not true ..."

Take a moment, decide that everything does not needs its own thread or a potentially incendiary comment. Let the new(good, terrible, in between) percolate.

BUT .. go back and read your thread out loud. Not good.

I suppose so. But I been on the inside of lots of boards....most of the stuff there is unsubstantiated anyway, but it gets discussed.
How many hot insider tips turned out to be wrong? How many wild guesses turned out just to be guesses.
But whatever. This board is not the sole source of info, but it certainly is one of the most tightly monitored. For good or bad.

 

I like this board because it’s not as “free” as some of the others. Even if it limits what I want to say at times.
They can run it however they want. It’s a privately owned website, there is no free speech here. They’re even allowed to limit us talking about things that are true if they want. Like you said, for the good or the bad. It’s their rules. I haven’t really played a side, just explained the rules as I understand them. I like the rules here, for the most part, but everyone won’t, and there’s plenty of places for them to go if they wish.
