Russia requests gourmet mud pie recipes from North Korea, and fire ant recipes from South Korea.

Russians Fear They’ll Soon Be Starving ‘Like North Koreans’ (yahoo.com)

Just the way Russia wants it.

Hint: do not eat the fire ants raw.

I think this one might have stolen an iron chain, wrapped himself in it, and tried to swim the Volga in January. What a dummy, right?

More on the ammunition shortages in Russia. Apparently, Russia is only firing 25% as many artillery shells as it used to earlier in the war, indicating either severe shortages or severe failure of artillery bombardment.

Russian artillery fire down nearly 75%, US officials say, in latest sign of struggles for Moscow - KVIA

Ahh, the Volga Chain Challenge. If I've seen it once, I've seen it a thousand times.

At this point, Russia is accepting all kinds of shells to restore its dominance in the shell game. They will accept seashells, nutshells, and stock in shell corporations. They just don't have any money to shell out for ammunition right now.

A strong plurality of Germans oppose sending weapons to Ukraine.

When Bakhmut collapses - and it will - watch for EU support to collapse.

Governments are fanatically all-in ... but the people are restless.

According to Ukie sources Ukraine has lost 9,000 to 10,000 in the town of Soledar alone.

German reporter Julian Roepke postulates that there are millions more males in Ukraine that could join the fight.

But that’s not how it works.

It's not possible to simply equip, organize, and supply the entire male population. Militaries have limits to their armament and sustainment powers.

If NATO wants to defeat Russia it will have to officially join the war. It’s running out of Ukrainians.

I was making a joke in the context of how many people have dropped dead around Putin. I know absolutely nothing about this guy or how he died.

Excellent question. Presumably entities without a high degree of confidence that they will recover their investment.

Russia shipping unknown cargo out of S Africa on sanctioned ship. Is Putin moving all the gold he has plundered in Africa or buying arms from S. Africa? US alerted S. Africa but S. Africa did nothing to prevent the ship from docking and loading/unloading cargo.

US needs to get the EU to agree to sanction S. Africa for allowing this

A sanctioned Russian ship moved cargo under the cover of darkness at a port in South Africa, and the local government won't say what was being unloaded, the Wall Street Journal reports (msn.com)

The Wall Street Journal reported that for two nights in December, during nationwide power cuts, a large crane moved cargo off and onto the ship at Simon's Town Naval Base, near Cape Town. Local South African government officials have declined to reveal what was in the cargo and what was being unloaded at the port.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the ship — whose company MG-FLOT, which was previously known as Transmorflot LLC, has been accused by the US of transporting Russian arms and weapons — turned off its transponder, which tracks its location, upon docking at Simon's Town last month.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the ship's locator was turned on again two days later when it was 100 miles east of Simon's Town. The US sanctioned the Lady R on May 8, 2022, when the ship's company was using the name Transmorflot LLC, according to the Department of the Treasury.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the US government alerted South Africa that the ship was under US sanctions when trackers showed it was headed toward the country in November but the US never got a response from South Africa about its warning.
