Looked like a well coached team tonight, really encouraging to see ball and player movement the entire second half. The more assists Castleton has out of the post, the better.
Made me happy. I like these guys. They don’t shoot it all that well, but they do stick together, support one another real well. Congrats, Gators. Good job. Happy for ya.
Defense has been playing pretty well as a whole. Last 11 games, opponents are scoring an average of 57.55 points. The offense needs work, however, overall, the defense has been solid.
Kind of weird that Lofton was the only starter without an assist. He did have 2 steals, a block and hit 3-4 of his shots, assuming stats are right, so all good.
Overall, a very nice win. Golden is now 2-0 against first year SEC coaches. Reeves is definitely a head scratcher. He is going from a x-factor to a SuperX-factor. Definitely need his light to come and and STAY on if we are going to beat the upper-echelon teams.
I really like these guys-- they are gritty and never quit! Defense is ok, but shooting still sucks butt.
With all our rangy guards, small forwards Fudge, Kowacie, Kugel, need to think push it inside, drive first, if they can finish, now be smart, if not let someone open shoot. if all three of these players would do that, it would open the others on the team to shoot open shots, team ball. at one point, Kowacie missed three 3 balls in a row, too quick, not open and rushing his shots. it would have helped the team if he would have gone inside. Kugel and Fudge need to keep this in mind also. But I am not complaining, y’all brought the defense and kept your focus, you got a good road win! Go Gators and also please keep pushing the ball!
