Who has the best program? Who has the worst? Who has the most promising? who has the least promising? Who has the the best HC? who has the worst HC?
Legit question to ponder. If it's football, Gators are what the record says and the complete meltdown in the last four games of season will tell you- where we are at. Napier got a D- grade from ESPN rankings of first year coaches and who could argue with that. Recruitment rankings about 10 +/-... and we won't go to Portal rankings because it is too sad to ponder. All the while, FSU leads the pack in Portal rankings and we picked up a cast-off QB from Wisconsin called Mertz. That should speak volumes that we are not going to be elite for some time to come... He who trusts in BN will be disappointed in a year's time.
Should be and have been the state's best football program. At present, we cannot say that. Hopefully we will get back to that.
Portal is slowly picking up. Stop getting your panties bunched up. Breaking: Gators land commitment from transfer IOL Micah Mazzccua
Hey....87 to the rescue!! Gators baseball team is a legitimate elite team, ranked #2 in one pre-season polls and top 5 in all others. If you Gator fans want to feel the pride and joy in the Gator Nation- keep an eye on the Gators baseball team. This will likely be a very special year of success. While we're at it the Track and Field team both Men and Women are elite and Swimming, Tennis, Gymnastics, Golf are fun to watch and cheer on... Football, well that is another story of pain and frustration ... hoping we take a step forward in 2023 but watching UGA - it's as obvious as the nose on your face that the talent gap is as wide as the Grand Canyon and closing that gap will take a special talent and coach and several years. We'll see if the current staff is up to the task.
The bad news is that the answer is obviously FSU. The good news is that at this time last year, two years into Mike Norvell's tenure, no one would have guessed this was coming. If you're not sold on Napier and think he should be making a big second year leap like a lot of great coaches of the past, Norvell is a shining example of someone who had a slow and steady trajectory that didn't seem to be going anywhere and then all of a sudden he was going someplace.
