With only 4 players taken so far by Napier, Florida only ranks at #46. One of our state rivals is at #1 with 8 players taken. Deon Sander's Colorado Buffs at #2 is going crazy with 17(20) players taken.

 

Hopefully Napier is taking who he needs. I guess we will see you in the next day or two and then we will get the judge that on the field

agree, but unfortunately think we are third behind Auburn and Nebraska....think this is a miss...

 

Great article and very encouraging. Portal recruiting is much more mysterious than recruiting high school athletes. We won’t know how the Gators have done until it’s over. We might not even know when it’s over. Glad to get a peak behind the curtain.

 

I don’t think that’s going to happen, unfortunately. A lot of the more coveted portal guys are outside what we can spend.

 

How do you know what we can spend?

Constantly bringing in portal guys so he’s being selective. But we do need some for next year

the fsu way looks good on a ranking website but it will never turn into permanent success

 

Am I the only one that misread the thread title and thought it said who should we purchase....not far off being correct anyway.

 

The results tell you all you need to know. Players don’t despise Florida and our coaches. They go where they are paid more and have the best chance of winning. They like winning and money just like every other kid.

 

If you bring in the top classes every year, you only need the portal to fill in the gaps from kids that didn’t pan out. We are a long way from not needing the portal and we aren’t buying the top portal players either. It’s pretty disheartening watching what’s happening. Napier brought in a nice talented class no doubt but to me it looks like we still didn’t come close to begin to closing the gap. The big boys still took the top highschool players and whichever portal players they needed to fill their gaps. Everyone else got the leftovers as usual. Everyone else is playing for ny6 games and then a playoff spot in 24. Im not sure how long I can be interested watching 65-7. I think it was still in the first quarter when I quit watching. What’s happening is unwatchable.

Us po folk can’t control how the rich folk choose to spend their money. Neither can SS or Nape. It’s no big secret that our big money has been rather frugal when it comes to spending money on players. Pre and post NIL. I’m not calling them cheap, nor do I have any right to question how they spend, it’s their money, just seems they’d rather spend it in other ways. Buying recruit’s doesn’t get their name put up on buildings…
