Then this may rankle you but I hope does not open the wound or reactivate the rude exchanges - I saw no evidence your post was changed or misquoted. Any "badgering" you perceive was brought about through your ongoing insistence the post was misquoted and the quoter's equally insistent refutation it was not. When there is stalemate disagreement between posters it's usually better to let it go and not continually respond to the point of escalation. Allow the evidence to speak for itself. Good.
Homeowner to robber. Would you please wait here while I go to the safe and get my gun. Owner returns with gun and points it at robber. Uh wait another minute while I go find my ammo. Lolololololololol
In essence what you're saying is that the risk even if it's relatively small that a child will have access to a loaded weapon is a necessary price to pay for the piece of mind that comes with having access to a loaded weapon in case of a break-in.
Not all people have small children in their homes. You do what’s needed for each circumstance to keep every family member safe.
Nothing was left out, your post was quoted in its entirety. I also checked and neither post was edited so that can not be the issue.
I clearly said to expect more stories of children shooting teachers “if schools start arming teachers.” Not including the latter part and simply saying “Hurr durr, children are gonna start shooting teachers?” completely changes the context of my post, which is precisely why that poster chose to not include that part aka not quote me properly.
Your post Expect many more of these stories if righties and their genius "arm the teachers" plan ever goes into action His post orangeblue_coop said: ↑ Expect many more of these stories if righties and their genius "arm the teachers" plan ever goes into action Many more 6 year olds shooting teachers? Some of your posts are just plain stupid the rest are comical. What did he not quote correctly?
Dude. You need to learn the difference between "quote" and "emphasis". He quoted you verbatim. Left nothing else... And just as we ALL do he emphasised a portion of your quote for discussion. You've done it. I've done it. We all do it. But literally no one is defending or agreeing with you. (Even from your side) so take the L and move on.
My quote wasnt a mod action. Not sire what that has to do with it. You literally chop up quotes yourself while actually leaving parts out, yet get mad that someone actually FULLY quoted you? It's uncanny.
Just my opinion, but I think "misquote" is not the word orangeblue_coop should have been using. His issue was with the question that 51 asked, not with the accuracy of the quote (which we all agree was identical). Personally, I didn't think there was anything wrong with the question as the "if" was still implied, in my view. Nothing was misrepresented as far as I can tell. If I'm mistaken, I'd love to see a screenshot of what orangeblue_coop sees as it does not match what the rest of us see. Regardless, certainly nothing he should have gotten mad about one way or the other. Back to the story, is there anything about the parents and/or how this gun was available? Any punishment for the parents in that regard (assuming it was from their home)? Locally, a boy brought a gun to school (more of a showoff fashion rather than any known intent to use). His mom is (was?) a police officer. Go figure. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
In fairness, the ones that laugh at this forum would have never made it to the turn. Many of the folks who laugh at this forum are not good at different perspectives (either sharing or receiving, sometimes both). It's not like nobody ever shakes their head at the takes on the football or basketball boards. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Here is the Virginia laws concerning unsecured firearms around children under 14 § 18.2-56.2. Allowing access to firearms by children; penalty
So after proving recklessness, which is difficult, you can put them in jail for less than a year and/or fine them $2,500.
That is the charge class 1 misdemeanor although it doesn't cover if the firearm was used in committing a crime I tried to look that up and couldn't find anything plus you also have the civil side she was trying to take the gun from the kid when he shot her
Saw a story on one of the morning news shows and they said the kid intended to shoot the teacher. Not bringing it to show off to other kids.
A little news update Newport News school shooting: 6-year-old's mom bought gun legally; boy put it in backpack, brought to class
