I know, but even with sacks AR had over 650 yards rushing. Partly because of his ability to escape that first unblocked rusher. Hate to think how many sacks Mertz might have had behind our line...if he survived.

It is bad timing though considering they are still trying to win football games. It’s not possible to give full attention to either. I don’t really see a better solution though as the semester is starting and early enrolls are going to class.

    Once again....
Our offensive line did a poor job pass blocking!
Yet, I will say, we were better than 2021 when it came to pass blocking.
And if anyone noticed, mighty Oregon State's defensive line simply embarrassed our offensive line.
They would blitz a safety and either no one would pick him up or our quarterback did not have anybody to dump the ball to quickly.
    Once again...it was embarrassing.
Three points for the whole game?
Been watching the Gators since 1966 and I don't believe we have EVER been in bowl game where we EVER scored just three points in a game.

I was pathetic no doubt. However, I’ll say our pass blocking wasn’t exactly out of this world for Trask. He knew how much time he didn’t have and got things done within that timeframe or made the best forward progress that was left open or he got rid of the ball. AR made running lanes for our rbs with just the threat of his legs. 11 guys working together and knowing what they are working with makes a difference. We were without possibly the best interior lineman in tge country on a line that was average. We lost the threatof the qbs legs. Miller had to have some rust and I’d guess he could do better with practice and everyone could do better once they realize their limitations and what they are working with. Our offense with Miller would never be the same offense Miller would lead. The kids didn’t have long to learn what to do with what they were left with. It was bad but could be better. If Miller must start, I expect improvement given adjustments to gameplan.

It's actually decent timing... the teams in the playoffs have less time to pursue players in the portal, so it gives the more needy teams a chance to grab some players before the playoff teams are freed up.

Kinda like the worse teams get first choice in a draft. Teams that don't make a bowl get a better jump start than crappy bowl teams like us.

Understand, but what did all that running equate to? He showed flashes of potential greatness, but I had an ill feeling around game#8 when he was still trying to launch the ball through his WR from 5 yards away. He never learned to take a little off his passes and that highly affected his accuracy.

I have a feeling that in the history of the NFL draft, there may be no player who's draft position is determined more on his combine performance and private workouts than AR. Not so much his physical performance, though that will be important, but more on his decision making and reading defense skills. I think the NFL teams are going to have to be really impressed by those skills for him to have any chance of being picked in the first round.

I'm still not a believer that an NFL team is going to invest a first round pick on AR, but if he proves himself to have the decision making skills that he really didn't show at UF, that could certainly change.
