Out rebounded us by 6 and we turned it over 10 more times than they did. And we still had a chance at the end…..
However, as has been noted, Florida had great chances to win even with the refs calling the game the way they did. The Lady Gators just aren't deep enough or experienced enough to keep their foot on the gas like they did when building a 10-point lead several times.
Next game against UK is starting to look like a must win to keep any tournament chances alive. They are not very good this season so can't afford a bad home loss. We gotta get going in this stretch because the last part of the SEC schedule is tough. On a different note I have no idea where we stand for next season roster wise. We could have about 8 eligible seniors if I'm not mistaken. We could also have 3. Anyone have any insight into who may be leaving or staying? Barring transfers we have Matharu, Merritt, and Kyle as seniors. Rimdal, Warren, and the twins as juniors. Perry as the lone sophomore, and Reynolds as the lone freshmen.
Coach Finley pointed out post-game Florida had 3 sophomores, a freshman and a senior on the floor at the end with the foul-outs. Here's the current roster:

I am just shocked again how bad and one sided officiating can be and it gets even worse in womens basketball. Sure we were a little loose with the ball sometimes, but so was UGA but they kept getting bailed out. Or bailed on bad shots, I thought Kelly should have blown a gasket or two. With as short handed as we are this was a must win for us and we got screwed out of one. It was actually a decent game until the refs decided to take over
Yes... same breakdown just a year out. The question is how many seniors are we gonna have. Who leaves and who uses a covid year. That class marker doesn't mean a lot for the ones who still have the covid option... luckily that phases out soon so won't be as hard to figure out the roster management. Ideally I'd like to keep 2 of the seniors (Zippy and Correa would be my top 2 picks). Then I'd love to add one quality PF, C, and G each... preferably all into the underclasses to balance the roster a bit. That would still leave room for one of Nina, Faith, or Deans to stay as well.
