You're 100% right. Always root for the Gators but was so nervous they would choke the lead. So happy to be proven wrong. Hope we can keep it going. Go Gators!
Lee Humphrey said post-game: Florida stayed poised down the stretch. Knocked down some big shots including some big 3s when they mattered.
Stating the obvious but step in the right direction today. It’s amazing how shots start falling when the team plays with more energy. Hopefully some of the newer players learned a lesson today on what level of effort it takes to win SEC games.
Well, glad to see you. I would've hated for you to completely miss a great win and only be around for losses.
One never knows..maybe this game will show them they must play the entire game with intensity..they could have won the last 2 games if they played like this all the time
Great win for the Gators! A much needed win for Florida. I thought that the bench played really well down the stretch. I liked Riley Kugel's energy and his ability to finish the plays. Myron Jones had another good game shooting from the 3-point line while also being a decent ball handler along with Loftn. Congrats on Collin Castleton having a well rounded game: 12 pts, 5 A, 8 reb, 7 blocks! That was a nice long hug by Coach White & Castleton at the end of the game!
New we had a chance to win once we got down 13. Been on the reverse of that for last 7 years. Fun win.
Hopefully Florida can get on a little minny winning streak. Upcoming SEC-games: at LSU (1-1) Missouri (2-1 in SEC) at TexasAM (1-0) <-- a little revenge? at Miss St (0-2) S.Carolina (0-1)
I'm waiting for Lee Humphrey to talk with Coach Golden. Edit: As an update . . . they never had it and just ended the radio broadcast. IDK why.
Haslem and Chris Richards were at the game courtside, second row. I was right behind Patric Young entering Gate 4. Funny that there were no announcements about any of them being at the game. Wow, what a turnaround. We were 3-17 early on and shot nearly 50% for the game. Great freethrow shooting, too. The dunk was a huge turning point that fired up the crowd and the team.
I was tempted to post during the first 15 mins of the game, considering it was more of the same lethargic play with awful shot selection and no movement, but I showed some restraint lol. One thing that does bother me a little is all the talk about the close losses and not executing down the stretch. I think it’s more about playing with intensity and energy the entire game and less about just end of game situations. Not sure execution was necessarily the reason they closed the game today, but maybe just playing at a higher intensity level, moving more without the ball, playing harder on defense, etc. I hope CTG continues to focus on those things in the coming weeks. There is enough talent to get to .500 in league play.
Portal guys. 2 big needs from Baylor 1 from Miami 1 from USC East Michigan linebacker 1-2 others hopeful some wide receivers. Maybe a few quiet visitors
