He demonstrated a lack of knowledge of the applicable laws. His videos get relatively few views for a reason.

    Really???

    Wow.

Ok--January 6 is the 6th day of the year according to the Gregorian calendar, upon which Christianity has celebrated the feast of the Epiphany for centuries, and due to the judeo christian foundation of Western culture, has seeped into the greater secular culture as '3 kings day ', or 'epiphany'.

Your "J6" day is a political thing, here today, gone tomorrow.

January 6 is and will remaim 3 kings day, long after your neo prog fart of a movement has been flushed down the toilet of time--and with it, youd 'j6' shit show circus of feigned outrage.

I enjoyed far more than the putrid crap takes in the toxic thread--where posters were slinging mud at the mother, according to their mental-political illness.

Maybe this guy thinks shootings should be investigated in general - or use of force should be revisited? Fair enough if that’s his point (I know it’s not yours). Either way, if that’s his take he ought not compare to dissimilar high profile cases of police acting *very* badly. Indictments against police are rare, they only happen in extreme cases of malfeasance and this is far from that. He should instead compare with more mundane cases of police using “justifiable” force where maybe they didn’t really have to - there are thousands of those you don’t hear a peep about. Highlight some of those and call for police reform then!

On the flip side, if a person is all gung-ho about stand your ground and police immunity in basically every other instance of police force (I.e the “should have followed orders” crowd), they can pretty much eff off and spare us the faux tears for Babbit. The lack of self-awareness from this crowd is awe inspiring.

    Oh btw, almost forgot...

    "12 days of Christmas."

    Sound familiar?

Count 12 days from Christmas Day (December 25, which is a Federal Holiday, and actually designated as "Christmas Day")--and lo n behold winds up on "3 kings day"--(January 6) every damn year. Even leap years!

Thanks for the explanation. Maybe next time, post your image with the caption what Jan 6 should focus on instead?

As for me, I'll still focus on the failed autogolpe attempt until all traces of Trump are gone for good from our government. As an atheist, our government is of more importance to me than your, or any religion. And history shows 1 failed insurrection attempt doesn't mean the end of the movement, or the leader.

I also understand why you want to take the focus of Jan 6 off the insurrection and place it back onto the Three Kings. But don't expect everyone to accept your religion washing view of Jan 6 events.

After violent attack on the capital it’s good to see capital police are restructuring to be better prepared. hopefully we don’t have another sitting POTUS encouraging an attack.

“Over the past two years, USCP has overhauled its approach and drafted a common framework for First Amendment activity that could potentially turn volatile. Strategies the department now uses regularly include better coordination with partner agencies throughout the DC area, as well as standard tactical and medical operational planning.”

Capitol Police ramp up security ahead of protests planned on two-year anniversary of January 6 insurrection

Impressive how persistent fed authorities have been in this. Long arm of the law.

“As of Wednesday, about 950 people had been charged in connection with the storming of the Capitol.

We cannot function as a country, if people think they can behave violently when they lose an election. Judge Amit P. Mehta said of Jan. 6 at a hearing in September.

“The investigation into the storming of the Capitol is, by any measure, the biggest criminal inquiry in the Justice Department’s 153-year history.

The Capitol siege investigation, as the government likes to call it, has been, among other things, a highly publicized and sophisticated effort to bring to justice extremist groups like the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers militia. Both played central roles in attacking the Capitol and disrupting a pillar of American democracy on Jan. 6 “

Two Years Later, Prosecutions of Jan. 6 Rioters Continue to Grow

Are you planning on genuflecting before a statute of the defeated former president as part of the celebration?

As opposed to one who wants religion to be government?

I suggest a re-read of the constitution, counselor.

No Jan 6 2023 will be my oldest son's 50th birthday. I'm sure we will go out to dinner or have some kind of a party.

Protesting was not criminalized. Nobody has been arrested for protesting. They have been arrested and convicted of different levels of violence, property damage, accessing restricted areas, and seditious conspiracy. None of these acts are covered by the First Amendment.

I know this causes you cognitive dissonance, but it is what happened.

Atheism is a lack of belief in a higher power. Government can't be my religion. I don't have any. Government may have authority over me, but the difference is I have power and influence over the type of government we enjoy.

And @Gator515151, enjoy the next Jan 6 as you see fit. This is still a free country.

Not just hundreds arrested… convicted, including at least a few of the top charge of seditious conspiracy.

I don’t think Babbitt was in on any conspiracy, I would also grant that she was a victim. She was both part of a violent criminal mob and somewhat of a victim. It’s just not who 92 thinks victimized her. It wasn’t the cop. It was Trump and the broad universe of rabble rousers in right wing media that warped her mind, and in the end caused her to effectively suicide by cop. Don’t even have to take my word for it or accuse me of speculation, many of those who were charged used this “Trump made me do it” in their defense!

Govt is your religion according to your neo progressivism, not your atheism.

Your atheism just means you believe in the omnipotent providence of the great accidental nothingness.

    Good on ya mate.

Nothing is omnipotent. Especially not government. And I personally don't need a diety to find meaning in my life. Other views may and do vary.
