Can someone help me understand the hype w the Michigan LB? He was ranked 995 in country by 247 out of HS and didn’t really play his freshman season. I’m sure the coaches see something and eval talent better than others, anyone have insight into what that is?
I actually think the coach letting the players vote is a good way to handle it. Sometimes the players should be part of the process. What I don't think is good is Sanders having the kid in the room when they vote and letting someone record and distribute the video. That's pretty disrespectful and unprofessional. He should bring all the players in with no cell phones allowed, state the issues and then let the player make his case. Then ask the player to wait outside while they vote. Just my opinion.
"A former three-star prospect from Madison (Ala.) Academy, Spurlock played in two games as a freshman for the Wolverines in 2022. He made his collegiate debut against Hawaii, recording three tackles and sharing Defensive Freshman of the Game honors. Spurlock also played at linebacker against UConn in mid-SeptembER Though he didn’t earn game action later in the year, Spurlock also received Scout Team Offensive Player of the Week honors ahead of the Michigan State game. He was also Scout Team Defensive Player of the Week ahead of the season-opener against Colorado State. " Michigan had a pretty stout defense so it's no surprise he didn't see much as an underclassmen
