    Typing as I listen …

(this is from coach @Gatorhead … lol!)

I thought we came out with lack of aggressiveness and let them dictate how the game would go… and dug hole. We had a good response coming out of the half and tied it up pretty quick. But, Against good team can’t dig hole like that if you want a chance.

We were prepared to attack how they were going to defend Colin… attack the double, and we didn’t execute. We didn’t do what we needed. At halftime, we talked a lot about doing our job… if you have a job… do it. When we did - we were effective out of that trap. But we had some silly turnovers that really hurt us.

Our defense helped them offense early in the second half. And we attacked the double better and hit some shots. The turnovers doomed us… I think we had 11 in the half.

Why are we coming out with a lack of emergency?

It’s been a recurring theme this year, but especially if the staff can’t get them fired up and ready for their first league home game that’s on the staff.
Excuses or bland explanations for obvious deficiencies don’t work anymore.

These post game interviews are so short and shallow. Lee is asking the questions … and they are just “blah”. I was begging him to ask- “what was the plan for attacking the double team?”.
How is that not the follow-up question?
Lee is greater shooter, but he is no Howard Stern. (Yes, I think Stern is an incredible interviewer)

Like I said during the first half, we were being outhustled on both ends of the court. You can't wait until the 2nd half before you decide to play hard.
Take a page from the motivators. BD was known to call a first half timeout and break his clipboard over his knee.
At this rate, we won't even make the NIT.

Right now we’re a perpetual bottom dweller in the SEC in recruiting so I don’t see us getting any better. I hope Golden didn’t buy a house in Gainesville thinking he’s going to be here long because he isn’t going to make it.

It's much too soon to jump to that conclusion.

I’m not so sure but I’m willing to wait a few years to find out.

The AD will stick with him in my opinion at least 3 seasons to see if he improves. Only way he gets fired is if there is some scandal or unusual circumstance. It’s gonna be tough for all Gator basketball fans for a while, at least that’s the way it’s looking.

Such the drama queen! While we haven't been tearing it up, we have not been the bottom dweller as the past SEC recruiting rankings have us at 11, 11, 10, 10. Currently, we are at the bottom, but it's not over yet. CTG doesn't have a full year in and you want to put his recruiting perpetually at the bottom.
Your choice to opt out of being a fan, but count on him having at least 3 years.

As recent recruiting has been sub-par, why do we expect CTG to excel with the nominal talent that he has to work with?

It’s my opinion so no need for you to have a hissy fit.

With the 2 nice runs (were they luck, coaching, or just better execution?) in the 2nd half demonstrates that we can play well, but we fall back into the malaise of low BB IQ and lack of taking care of possessions. We had 20 turnovers, some of which were forced due to good defense, but most were careless on our part.

At least CTG has something to preach on: play like you are coached and you can win, don't and take another loss.

maybe we just have differing opinions of "bottom". To me the "bottom" is the lowest (14th) or maybe include 13th or even 12th for grins. Do you consider 10th as being the bottom?

I'm having no fit, just trying point out the nonsensical reasoning here such as 10th being the bottom.

incredible how far expectations have fallen for Gator basketball fans, your comments actually read much more reasonably when I take them as an attempt at gallows humor.

So you’re fine with beating NEAR the bottom in recruiting.

reading comprehension not strong suites, huh? I never said I was fine with the current status nor are my expectations to have a better team at some point. That said, I do not expect lower half recruits to be in the upper half in wins. That’s just not reasonable.

Now for a little history lesson. Norm Sloan was our first full time BB coach, so that makes TG our 5th full time coach (I’m not counting Capt Ahab). Norm did OK, Kruger did OK, BD did very well, but we just don’t have a long history of being good, so why are fans expecting BD results. I don’t like our reality but that’s our reality. Until we get our next BD (too soon to tell if TG is it), this is what we’re are.

The decision to hire TG seemed rushed and I think many fans were shocked that TG gets hired the day after they lose in the first round of the tournament. Because he was an assistant at Auburn and made 1 dance from the WCC, so SS thinks he's ready to coach in the SEC. I really wanted the other coach who beat TG in the tournament to be the coach (now at LSU) or Grant. I really want to know what exactly SS was thinking when to many fans the program needed an experienced coach. Instead here we are downgrading from MW, hoping that TG can learn on the job and maybe we'll be good in a few years.

At some point, SS needs to be held accountable and he better have a quick trigger if Florida has another down season next year. It really feels like SS went the cheap route and right now Florida is one of the worst teams in the SEC. I think this hire should fall on SS if it doesn't work out.

Don't know why TG doesn't give Lane a shot when they team loses anyway. He effects the game in ways that analytics can't measure, but he loves his guys and isn't going to budge. It's not like the other guys can shoot well, so put in a defensive stopper who can make plays. Sucks when next year, he's playing well for another school.

I'm still hoping TG figures something out because I love Gator basketball, but this year has been rough to watch. Recruiting doesn't look great right now, so the program could really use a McDonald's AA to turn the narrative around. 24 class should be make or break for TG.
