I hope you are right aka, however that is what was being said about tonite's game against A&M. I was there as always and the place was half empty with the students on break and many adult ticket holders opting out due to weather concerns.
He is good at spending money on facilities and keeping way too many UAA lifers who had the end of the Foley era in decline.
If Billy rights the ship, Stricklin doesn't get fired. If Billy fails, Stricklin is out the door first. Sasse will get his own AD in then, who will go about making his hires.
i saw coach Tommy Bartlett and star Center Neil Walk go 21-4 in the early sixties. Needless to say without many fast players, they would have taken this team to the woodshed. so go check it out! maybe I should’ve said four decades back. If you can’t get the tough players, we’ll you will see what is transpiring now After seeing this game probably turned him away. Did we offer 2 million dollars, no. it would be a miracle because any handlers will tell him how bad we are. He now is going to have to go after overseas players and the transfer portal and pay enough to get them to come. Now the question is will the donors NIL get behind him and nail down kids, doubtful. It seems we pay one big and we have enough, wrong.
He flipped the camera… so he is good with me! In related news, I’ve been appealing him to flip the camera so it aims at the ceiling.
I'm sure we will never know for sure how CMWs family felt about the fans or Gainesville in general but I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to leave because his family wasn't happy.
His family may or may not have been happy, but he left before he was run out of town. His days were numbered and he knew it. He was coming off of a bad season and losing 6 guys. It wasn’t gonna get better.
Move before you are fired. I think it was just as simple as that. The SEC Network crew was talking like we fired him. lol
I went to the game. Who were these refs? They were not very good and blew a lot of calls both ways. Texas A&M came out very physical as they should. If I was their coach I would tell them to do that. And yet the first six fouls called were against the Gators. WTF? Maybe the officiating evened out over the course of the game but they set an early tone that we never really got past.
AKA really, I guess anything is possible. This year has taken its toll on me. The stars don’t seem to be aligning with our team, coach, program or even the refs. Too much Mojo against us. We might get 3 or four wins in the SEC. I like our coach but he seems to need experience and to be a little tougher. Buzz directed the his team the refs, the timeouts, the play calling, the defensive calls. CTG has a long way to go. I never expected to see a coach who would be a spectator, asking the refs please. Count me as worried as to his stay if he doesn’t recruit better to compete in the SEC. We waited too long on CMW and now we will probably let this continue no telling how long. CMW will probably get his two wins at our expense and get players that we need in recruiting. Redemption for him. If we do lose to Georgia in Gainseville, it is not going to be fun on this site.
I got to see the great Neal Walk (st the Alligator Alley vs UT great Boerwinkle and win. Next year with Andy Owens and my favorite player the PG Leatherwood. Lived there during the second Sloan Era, Maxwell Moten and then Big Duane. Must’ve seen at least 15 games of their live (including first SEC championship in Baton Rouge. What a great game!) got to know him a little. Have a bunch of good stories. Also... worst hire ever? Answer: Don Devoe. Big supporter of Kruger but understand him leaving. Then the magical Billy D years. All 3 of my sons went to his BBall camps and we saw a game per year. Love my Gator basketball but this year is frustrating to say the least. Lastly, SEC refs SUCK!
I think the way Florida handled the ball set the tone for the game Dave. Much more than the refs. Florida has a total disdain in taking care of positive possessions.
