It is possible. I think the athletic department needs to be cleaned out right now. Having issues like this in the two revenue sports at the same time as a pretty major shift in college sports is a unique opportunity: it gives us the chance to build an athletic department for the future, not the past. Stricklin needs to be gone. Then we need to clean out some of the bureaucratic bloat at the AD and staff up private, NIL-type organizations (funneling money to these independent organizations) to really handle much of the recruiting support beyond the coaches. Then, when all of that is done, we analyze how the programs are doing and make the changes as needed.
Most will point to me as the biggest White advocate on here, but Mike played a role in his demise here. Our fans … like most fan bases… became a bit too venomous. But Mike needed to push thru a plateau. He didn’t. I think he had some horrible luck along the way, but he never assembled the team nor coached to the style for which he was hired. And he wasn’t given a short leash. The move was necessary by the time it ultimately arrived. For both parties.
Have to call technicals on both . . . because you can't just stand there and have someone push you like Lofton did. SMH! Cowardly refs (at best) unless I missed something shown on a different angle.
