Offensive linemen in the portal

he’s not very good. Maybe a decent depth piece but was benched multiple times over several seasons at Miami.

 

We need to do better than that. But, sadly, that's the kind of talent thats realistically available right now. Hope we can make up for it with excellent coaching.

 

Started every game this season. IMO better than Tarquin in pass protect, probably not quite as good run blocking....but I would take that tradeoff

 

I have a feeling our 2 o line coaches are very confident in their ability to coach up run blocking

 

Sometimes a second chance and fresh start at an awesome place like UF makes a huge difference. New coaches of course.
Staff is interested for a reason, don't be so down on the kid, crikey!!

 

Maybe he just wants to play college football in front of fans?

In 2019 he was one of the OTs that the gators abused in Orlando. Has been benched in 2019, 2020 and I think 2022.

 

Not entirely on topic but I just saw that Roderick Kearney was singled out by 247 as the best run blocker at the UA All America game.

 

You can see he is going to be special. He looks like he could be special on the other side of the ball as well I don't know if he will start as a freshman, but it wouldn't surprise me.

 

Oh I don't know, open playing time in the highest profile conference at a high profile University in a warm state.

But maybe that is just my thinking...

 

All while getting paid and living in a brand new complex

 

How much pull does Rhule have? UF has better climate, facilities, SEC, academics, Coeds... the list goes on. CBN needs to land Mazzccua!

You have to get over the portal "rankings". They are an absolute joke. Use your brain, evaluate the players

 

I was just reminded that a week or so ago you said we’d finish with portal transfer ranking/results similar to FSU. Do you still stand by that?

Portal is the only way at this point to get us to 7 wins next year. Maybe 8. I’m not looking forward to 5-7 or 6-7 again next year and yea 1-2 extra wins does make a difference.

 

I said I thought we would have comparable portal results...I still think that is likely. I like the 5 we have, need 3-5 more....prefer now but the second window may be needed

Right, comparable would be finishing in top 5 if FSU is currently #2 and we are #64!! As per On3.
It’s just not possible at all to be comparable at this point. We will be lucky to finish in the 25 to 30 range. Even if you say they are off with their ratings they aren’t 62 spots off. Maybe 5-10 at most.
