Fla. surgeon general used ‘flawed’ vaccine science, faculty peers say
Joseph A. Ladapo, a professor of medicine at the University of Florida and the state’s surgeon general, relied upon a flawed analysis and may have violated university research integrity rules when he issued guidance last fall discouraging young men from receiving common coronavirus vaccines, according to a report from a medical school faculty task force. But the university says it has no plans to investigate the matter.

Ladapo recommended in October that men younger than 40 not take mRNA vaccinations for covid, pointing to an “abnormally high risk of cardiac-related death.” Doctors and public health officials swiftly pounced, dismissing the underlying research for its small sample size, lack of detail and shaky methodology.

In its new report, a task force of the University of Florida College of Medicine’s Faculty Council cites numerous deficiencies in the analysis Ladapo used to justify his vaccine recommendation. A summary said the work was “seriously flawed.” The report’s authors say Ladapo engaged in “careless, irregular, or contentious research practices.”

 

Surprise, surprise. The guy is a complete and total quack who was hired purely for Desantis to gain political points with the base.

 

Yeah just a quick look on the committee chairman Michael Haller's twitter shows his bias. He called Fauci a national treasure, a real American hero. Just a month ago he is shilling for the transition of minors. So basically this quickly strung together liberal committee is most likely just a bunch of typical activists. Not surprising as they are littered throughout college campuses and are only further erode the public trust in both the educational system and medical community. Quack quack indeed.

 

I wanted to know the same thing. Haitians have shown up as well. Would be curious if they get one way tickets, but the Cubans do not.

 

I haven't lived in Florida for over 20 years, but the "wet foot, dry foot" policy used to only be extended to Cubans, if I recall correctly. Normally I would say that is unfair, but considering what will probably happen to them if sent back to Cuba, I can kind of understand. Also I don't know what the difference really is if you catch the guy in 2 feet of water or on the beach.

 

What do you think happened to the Haitians that were/are sent back? The Haitians were fleeing the same things the Cubans were. Difference is they had/have no political power.

While the Cubans were welcomed with open arms, the Haitians were sent to the Krome detention center in Miami and processed back to Haiti. One of the worst examples of this country's inconsistent immigration policies. Thankfully, Obama finally ended the policy.

But really, who cares as long as he doesn't pay for it and his base laps it up?

 

And Venezuelans fleeing an oppressive government and terrible economic conditions (same as the Cubans are) are used as political pawns, lied to, and flown to Martha's Vineyard.

 

I agree about the policy, but I thought the Haitians were fleeing poverty more than political oppression. Not that there is much difference, if you are poor, you are poor. Really don't know much about Haiti other than it always seems to be rife with corruption from insiders and outsiders.

 

So gator_lawyer how do you feel about the Mexicans who crossed the border yesterday or last week or last month or last year or 50 years ago? How about their children and grand children?
