How do you think things will go in the SEC during the 2023 season? Here are my way too early predictions about how i think things will go in the SEC in 2023 the last season with SEC Divisions. SEC East 1-Georgia 11-1(7-1 in the SEC) 2-Tennessee 10-2(6-2 in the SEC) 3-Florida 7-5(5-3 in the SEC) 3-South Carolina 7-5(5-3 in the SEC) 5-Kentucky 5-7(2-6 in the SEC) 6-Missouri 4-8(1-7 in the SEC) 7-Vanderbilt 3-9(0-8 in the SEC) SEC West 1-Alabama 10-2(7-1 in the SEC) 2-LSU 9-3(6-2 in the SEC) 3-Texas A&M 8-4(4-4 in the SEC) 3-Arkansas 8-4(4-4 in the SEC) 5-Miss State 7-5(3-5 in the SEC) 5-Ole Miss 6-6(3-5 in the SEC) 7-Auburn 5-7(1-7 in the SEC) I'm happy the SEC will be going to a Pre-1992 SEC setup with no Divisions in 2024.
I hate the no divisions as the records won’t be with equal schedules. It’ll be more like pre bcs of voting on national champions. I think Bama is going to be hell on wheels next year. New qb but they are going to have a chip on their shoulders.
UF will have to beat SC, KY, and Mizzou all on the road to finish ahead of all three in 2022. I'm thinking more like 4th place, 6-6 with a 4-4 SEC record.
In our case I think it’s impossible at this point to make a credible prediction for next year. I do think we will have a better idea of what we can accomplish after the spring practice and game. More than anything, I just hope to see steady improvement as the season unfolds. It seemed like that was the case this year until Vanderbilt pulled the rug out from under us. Also, if we have a bowl game next year, I pray that we show up and play 60 minutes of INSPIRED football.
10-2 is what I expect to see next year. But we could easily end up 6-6 again. It all depends on the QB and O-line, mostly... would love to keep Pearsall too. I think we get more experienced players from the portal, and it will help us more than some people here think it will. We need a couple good/great players at key positions, and a couple good back-ups and we'll be good on the D-line. QB play is the wildcard. If Rashada comes in and takes over, don't expect that in his first year, than we could have decent year. But if we have to rely on Mertz or Miller than we could be in for a long and underwhelming year.
Gatorrick- I love your optimism. I think with some more gets in the portal there is hope. The QB position just needs to be serviceable. If Rashada and either Miller or our new guy can manage without too much disruption, we should be good. This year consistency sucked. Next year we'll have to get a handle on that or we'll be hosed. 9-3 would be huge. 10 -2? Epic. Go Gators.
I totally agree. We have to get consistency from the QB position to win the games that we should win. I hope we score some big wins especially in the portal, and NSD too.
10 wins would be an absolute miracle to me. I thought it possible last year if AR was a heisman candidate but he wasn’t.
Last year was so frustration to see... We had no depth on defense and the QB position was up and down all year long. What we need is consistency in ALL 3 phases of the game. We need a proven special tams coach and more depth on both lines of scrimmage. We have a good coach that understands what we missing last year and I think he gets us going in the right direction starting this coming season. Most of these players will be his picks, so I expect these players to play to his standard of football... with consistency. I just hope that the day after NSD that he hires a quality OC, and finds that special teams coach that the Gators need.
